I wager it would be a NIGHTMARE to maintain. Maybe, but you'd be the king of the KOA. |

Unless I'm reading the details in the description wrong, the body is likely just a training mockup and not actual MRAP armor. So you have everything that sucks about MRAPs without the one thing they supposedly offer?
Or am I missing something? |

I have been thinking about getting a new camper... Roomier than a truck with a camper shell, that's for damn sure. |

358 Miles and 56 hours. Sounds like it's almost unused. hmm, 6.39 MPH not much of a top end |

Did you check out the video on the auction site?
$25.00 opening bid, 0 bids so far. If I lived closer, damn I'd be on that. |

It would definitely make for an interesting conversation piece / Memorial Day parade entrant. |

Turbo supercharged diesel? No way! Not unless its a Detroit |

Might make a good mockup for a prop company that rents military vehicles to film crews, like Army Trucks Inc. |

Wait I thought the TSA bought them all to take us to FEMA camps?

So... is this thing armored or not? No. It's a trainer. But it would still get the chicks. I'd love that truck. Seriously cool. |

And we bitch about cutting the defense budget & complain we're deeply in debt. Here's why.

I can't stop looking at it. I want to fly up to Ohio and touch it, sit in it, and test drive it.

It's most likely a viz mod built to make sure that the units were compatible with the airlift commands aircraft. Wouldn't do to build a couple thousand units only to find they aren't air transportable. The fact it's at wright Patterson might be a giveaway to its use lol

I've watched DRMO establish condition codes.
It's not very scientific. |

They have more than one there. I saw them when I picked up a couple M105A2 trailers a while ago. I asked about them and the counter guy said they're neat looking, but that's all they're good for. It's only a training mockup, thin steel troop compartment.

Any significant armor added to the troop compartment would likely make it top heavy and unstable. |

I don't care that much about it being real armor or not, it's still a 5 ton truck with working A/C!...now that's luxury.

It's at 34k on the first day of bidding.
It will be interesting to see where it closes on the 11th/last day. |

Says rear body is made of steel. Even if it's not armor rated it should stop Glock .Fotay rounds.
