I finally did it, I added a M1-A Socom to my toys. I haven't fired it yet still just feeling it and drooling. I got one for my son last year and now I have one! Anyone ever had a problem with them? My only concern is the stock, I got one that is mossy oak cammo. Should I leave it, paint it , or get a walnut stock for it?

Congrats! I've wanted one for awhile, but i heard some people here didn't like it very much. I'd love to hear your remarks after you've fired it. Keep us posted.

Leave it as is..........just don't set it down in the woods!

Mossy oak? Sounds like you got a Scout rather than a SOCOM unless someone did some furniture switching. Nice buy either way though

I hope it works for you. Most report lots of problems getting them to run reliably.

DUH! My SOCOM is a Scout. Took it out on Saturday and what great fun. I just have to figure what type of scope to get. I had trouble with 3 US mil. mags, the retainer were about .200 inch to long, I filed them down and now they fit fine. Still was a lot of fun shooting it.

I wanted one bad until I started hearing about problems, then, watching a guy ina class I went too have the same problems.

Plus, they bark like all get out!
