Once again, Jedi Luke Skywalker has triumphed over Darth Vader, but this time in an online auction.
The original lightsaber belonging to the "Star Wars" hero sold for a hefty US$200,600 -- more than triple its estimated sale price -- in the Profiles in History's Hollywood Memorabilia auction on eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) on Friday, July 29.
Major Motion Picture Moments
The auction raked in over $2 million for thousands of movie and TV artifacts.
Although Luke's weapon was the top seller, the Sith Lord's lightsaber came in a close second with a winning bid of $118,000. In a strange bit of justice, Luke's severed hand -- that was parted from his body by Darth's saber -- sold for an impressive $23,600.
Other high-priced "Star Wars" items sold include: Luke's X-wing flight suit ($70,080), an original stormtrooper blaster ($56,500), Chewbacca's face mask and Yoda's cane ($50,150 each) and a complete stormtrooper tour costume ($20,060).
Other top-selling film memorabilia include Harrison Ford's "Indiana Jones 3" leather jacket ($94,400), a set piece of the Derelict ship from "Alien" ($47,200), Arnold Schwarzenegger's leather jacket from "The Terminator" ($41,300), uniforms belonging to "Star Trek" characters Sarak and Amanda ($29,500), Kirk Douglas' "Spartacus" sword ($17,700), Samuel Jackson's "Pulp Fiction" pistol ($11,800) and John Candy's "Spaceballs" costume ($7,080).
TV Trivia Totals
Items from the small screen still brought in the big bucks, including the "I Love Lucy" pilot episode prop cello ($35,400), Colonel Klink's uniform from "Hogan's Heroes" ($35,400) and "The Munster's" grandfather clock ($32,450).
