One of my guys was killed today. He volunteered to come out with me from the east coast to deploy with 1st MLG. He volunteered to go out with the Marines into Ramadi.
Killed this morning.
Yesterday we were working a mass cas together and today I was working on him...not enough though.
Well, I've got a letter to write...don't know exactly what I'll say.

Just venting a little.

Being a Corpsmen is a special job, it takes someone who is selfless, and willing to put themselves directly in harms way, for the lives of others. There is no greater love than giving your life to save the life of another, and I'm sure there is a special place in heaven for selfless heros like him. May God bless him, his family, and you. My heart felt condolences. I'm headed to my bed in a free country, that he gave his life for. I will say a prayer for Him, his family, and you. God bless you all....Very sad....Treeman

+1

I've always viewed combat Medics/Corpsmen as one of the most noble jobs there is in the military.

He'll be in my prayers today at church...

People like him will never be forgotten. We live in a free country as a result of those who have made sacrifies for the benefit of our nation. May his sacrifice not go unforgotten.

I'm very sorry to hear that, very sorry indeed.

I hope this thread will inspire everybody who reads it to donate to a good cause, like the USO or Help Hospitalized Veterans. We need to support these guys and girls in uniform as best as we can, and there are plenty of ways to express your respect, love, and encouragement.
