Hollwood treatment of real-life arms dealer Victor Bout. Michael Mann was going to do a movie about him, but instead did a movie version of Miami Vice. Some screenwriters and producers took his idea and came up with this, I guess.

Someone posted a link to a preview a while back. Looked interesting enough to check out. Then again I sat through I, Robot to ogle Bridget Moynahan for a couple hours.

Nicolas Cage... Flinty-eyed, square jaw clenched tight, emoting every line like Sir Laurence Olivier quoting Shakespeare's soliloquies. Good gracious is every part he plays the same? I don't care how good the movie is. With him in it I wouldn't see if if every one of the 1 in 12 came armed and dangerous and threatened me with immediate and summary execution or else!

Just got back from the theater and it was amazing. It is not anti-gun but does make you hat guys who will do anthing to make a dollar.
The opening sequence was amazing. I definitely recommend this movie. |
