I,ve searched a number of sites but no luck trying to find out what an 11M10OO is specifically. I ran across someone who claims to have been SF but all I could find was his MOS and none of the places I tried had this particular code. Anyone have access to more info?

11M = Mech infantryman. Basically the guys that role around in Bradley fighting vehicles.

11M merged into 11B (light infantry) last year though, as is no more.

11M is not SF... They are not even any Airborne slots (as an 11M) for them..

An SF guy would be 18 series. 18B, C, D, E, F, or A (officer)....

Having working with them for some time as a non SF qualified support guy (MOS 25C2S), SF guys dont generally brag about being SF to other guys.. 99% of the time a guy brags he is SF, he is a phony.

If you want to test the guy, you can ask simple stuff that any SF guy would know. Where was modern SF founded and where ? 10th Special Forces at Ft.Bragg 1952. Who was the 1st Commander? Col Aaron Bank (who just died not too long ago), What is the SF motto and what does it mean? De Epresso Liber- Liberate from Opression.

11M - As already posted, mech infantry

1 - skill level 1 (rank of E4 or lower)

0 - Beats me..

OO- These are usually additional skill identifiers. For example I have a P on mine, for parachutist. I think O is javelin gunner, but I have no idea why there would be two of them.

This MOS and skill identifiers could be some outdated format... so I could be way off here.

Theres my "only been in the Army for two years" assessment.

The ASI for Javelin is 2C

Per usmilitary.about.com/od/enlistedjobs/l/blskillid.htm
an SQI of "O" is "No additional qualifications"

Besides, didn't we conclude a while ago that there were no special forces below the rank of Sergeant, which means the level code has to be a "2X" not a "1X"?

11M10O is basically a Bradley Crunchie who's done AIT and not much else.

Truthfully, I don't know if I've anything after 19A in my code. Maybe 19A40O

NTM

I see the Infantry branch cleared you for words bigger than 1 syllable.

Thank you gentlemen, I gleaned the MOS from a search of his name and that was what came up but could not get a definitive answer from anywhere.

The SF thing didn't come from him but from the General Manager when he was telling me of the subjects background after he was hired, the guy himself doesn't say anything about it except to mention some of the places he has been as we travel extensively now. Nice guy and I didn't want to come off as a sceptic without knowing the facts and I don't have the military background to even ask the right questions.
