How much does a name play in part of a child's life?

Named him Seamus.

+1

Why? Unless it's a name that runs in the family, it just seems odd. Even if you named him after a relative, it's something he'll have to live with for the rest of his life. You save names like that for a middle name.

I have 3 boys. Feed him all he wants, make sure he naps and gets plenty of fresh air. With you being there every possible moment.

You'll both be fine.

That was my great grandfather's name.

My favorite mispronunciation of it is See Moose. I've been called seen often enough.

Mine was born yesterday. Thomas Monroe.

I thought the same... or he will be in cell block 4. It can go either way but with good parenting I believe God is on my side.

My son's first name isn't very common but I like it and so far everyone thinks it's cool as hell.

We gave him a normal middle name, after her father as he's a good man to look up to. And he can fall back on it.

So,

Cool name, normal admirable name, surname

I'm kinda bleh on the whole thing as I'm not the biggest fan of my first two names and often just go by my last name.

With a name like that he'll have a tough row to hoe.
He will be made fun of constantly as a kid in school.

Thinking about it as I drink some Reed's Ginger Beer.

You may want to get him an anchor tattoo and an eye patch.

A name like seamus guarantees a hard man who doesn't take shit from the sea, the kraken or his wife.

Yeah, "drinking excessively" while around your newborn is pretty fucking weak.
