Reading this right now, pretty fun book about a present day, industrious Earthling who uses maple syrup to find a way to cast off the alien yoke. You can see it was written as a homage to Heinlein with a little more science thrown in, with alien technology and asteroid mining.
I give it 4 cords of wood out of 5. Can't wait to read the sequel.

Ringo's usually good for an interesting read. One thing you can say about the protagonist in LFOD - he thinks BIG! :)

Just got this one the kindle Sat. night . . . most of the way through it.  Enjoying it.  Some of it doesn't make sense . . . yet.  John is always good for high body count, though.

Saw a lot of influence from John Scalzi as well-IIRC, the sequel is already out in electronic form.
