Great vid, very cool place to visit too if anyone gets the chance

*sniff* Father/son day at DK-prof's... I love family videos *sniff*

I'll bet that put a smile on that guard's face, or at least in his heart.

Quoted: That kid was serious. Yes he was. Maybe he'll be doing that when he's older. |

Cute... reminds me of being a little kid and seeing the Queen's Guard in person.

very cool. Guess he has already figured out what he wants to do when he is older
The kid was awesome
I personally got yelled at by the guard there when I inspected the cannon too closely-all was cool til my friend's little girl said loudly "your're not supposed to be there!" even though I wasn't out of bounds from what I could see or read...it was funny in a way, but I was bummed to not be able to check out the interesting artillery-neat breechloaders, but no pix for me |

That mode of carry of the rifle is some very different drill than you see in the US.

I think that could have made the guard's day. CJ I bet it did. Where is your membership? |
Hell, there were some cadets back in JROTC that didn't look that good.
That's cute, I'm glad the Guard played along too, must have made that kids day

Quite the Honor they gave the little Man. Yep, that was a class act. |

Sometimes it is simply amazing how much kids "get it." While it might just be childhood awe of the army man, they seem to recognize that these are people who stand in harm's way to protect them and there is a genuine love for that.

I'll bet that put a smile on that guard's face, or at least in his heart. More than that, he connected with a future General! When i was in 9th grade, I attended a Military school. that was also the year, my brother graduated from Paris Island, which I was honored to attend the ceremony.......in my Uniform. Marine officers were kind enough to salute back. Drill Sergeants who appreciated the acknowledge of title. Closest I have been to serving.... |
The guard did well. I suspect he knows that kid will be in his place in 15 or 20 years. |
WTF is DKProf? I'm sure he had more or less the same thing happen to him. He has had a few threads IRT his service on the Danish Royal Guard.

That kid is just awwwsome, armed with a hockey helmet and an umbrella. Priceless!
Kids love soldiers. And I would go out of my way to acknowledge a kid vying for our attention. For that one act would most likely make that kid a supporter of our military for life.
