I just have to interject here:

Handgun posession in England is a felony.

This appears to be one criminal killing, for whatever reason, two others.

I am not at all surprised by the conviction given the above.  Right, wrong, or indifferent, he had no chance.  In that society, killing - especially with a firearm - is severely frowned upon, no matter what the reason.  They're more than a little weird about it.

If that were me, over there, I would have taken the first hot ticket to the farthest- away non-extradition treaty country.  Life on the lamb can't be all that bad.  Can it?
