I woke up yesterday morning @ 7:00 with no more yardwork or chores to do and was wondering what to do for the day. I debated going out shooting gophers, varmints ect... and decided to save my ammo for larger varmintshing a nice secluded mountain stream......w/a interstate running next to ithe
I had my truck in sight and still nothing, I figured I was going home empty handed (thats ok still better than working)hit First cast went in the sweet spot of a small backswirling under current. it just sort of hung in that spot for a second or two and BAM I thought I was going to loose my pole this fish hit my bait so hard. And the fight ensued...... dowstream, upstream, deep and then he came out of the water..... one of the most beautiful things I had seen in a while.... he was huge at least 20" or morehim. I baited back up and tossed it back in the same spot just to see if there might be one more in this hole......Bam another big one takes the bait....repeat ......by the time the I was done I pulled the one rainbow and four browns out of this hole and it all happened in the matter of 40 minutes got my limit for the day and..... dinner plans were brewinghatshttp://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_2994.JPG Catch of the dayhttp://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_2997.JPG This guy thought he got away the first time he took my bait and then got me snagged uphe http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_2999.JPG All cleaned up. http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3003.JPG bellies full of chopped lemon, butter and coated w/lemon pepper salt http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3011.JPG what next you ask....? http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3014.JPG A quick and easy side dish http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3023.JPG Almost dinner http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3029.JPG Dinner is served http://www.hunt101.com/data/562/medium/100_3033.JPG Fresh grilled lemon pepper Rainbow trout Herb and butter rice pillaf Smirnoff Ice Bushmaster m4rgery Springfield Armory 1911-A1 G.I. Vietnam commemorative KA-BAR And for after dinner one of my all time favorite movies and a little pie w/some Busch |
whats up with the girly foo foo drink?
You still get an automatic 10 because you killed it and cleaned it |
Montana Trout
Bushmaster Bushmaster sight in target place mat 1911 extra mags measuring device stapling device PIE smirnoff napkin I sir offer you a full 12 out of 10 Where in MT are you? |
+1 on the girly drink. Otherwise 12/10 because it looks delicious. |
I thought something with citrus flavor would go well w/fish... besides my girlfriend was coming home later and Its guaranteed pie after she has a few of them.
Damn, beat me with the 12 out of 10 |
Great falls area |
Because you killed, cleaned and cooked it you get a 9 but I deduct .5 for the bitch beer and .5 for the shitty beer.
Nice catch man |
This score was way too easy:
20 HH ...I still have some Speckled Trout fillets we caught in the freezer-now I'm craving fish! HH |
I spent the extra cash on the bitch beer for the bitch. And personnally I LIKE BUSCH |
Damn, fish are some ugly critters when they're whole
They're much better after they've been cooked. 10/10 |
Easy Win.
But it would have been much better if you replaced Smirnoff ice with Coors Light Thanks for the pictures, I will try lemmon, and butter in my trout next..... |
You dont understand the scoring system. He has to get an automatic 10 because he killed it himself. That be the rulez! |
+1 Well played sir, well played. |
thank you I enjoyed the catch as well as the prep and consumption. I just realized something I just past 50 posts in over four years that must be some kind of record |
not normally a fish man but that looks good and seeing as they were
caught in great falls and thats where i was born i give it a strong 9.5 |
Why?? What's the difference?? |
+10 for food
+2 for catching your own dinner -15 for Smirnoff Ice Total = -3 |
10/10
Nicely done! You did Montana proud. A rare Dinner Pic that I can almost taste ('cause I have before!) The Ol' ("where did I put that fishin' gear?") Crew Chief |
10/10 oh that looks so good.....nice gun and knife display...with targets
If that was on a menu, I'd pass.
Don't take it personally....(I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter anyways ) |
Awesome play-by-play - setting things up for the last cast of the day when "bam!" they start biting like mad Awesome pictures of the prep work. Awesome final presentation. Looks good.
10/10 Freakin' awesome. My ass needs to get out the house and do a little fishing. It's been years for me too. Maybe roll down to Walmart this afternoon and get my license and then head out with my daughter when she gets in from school. Thanks for the idea, m1awolf! |
Looks like a nice catch and pretty good dinner ya' had.
Score 9/10 -1 for the combination of: 1. Busch beer 2. Stapler in a dinner pic ( this ain't office depot .com ) 3. mags on the table that could possibly be unloaded ( turn them to the camera so it's a no doubter ) Still a quality spread and nice write up, and I personally know how good freshly caught trout tastes |
Superb work.
I would give a 12/10 but I am taking away 1 for the girly drink. So 11/10 Beautiful fish. |
like I said before a citrus flavor drink seemed to be in order |
9/10 because you removed the heads & the girly drink! The cheeks of the trout have a nice morsel of meat in them!
I am gonna have to go with a 9.5/10
The hammer is down on your 1911 and if those mags are not loaded what are you gonna do when the zombies come? |
