Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Leupold CQT Vari-X, 3power site for my AR

I am looking/demo-ing the aforementioned site for my brand new AR.  I really like the site, but it is rather bulky but has all the features I want in a site.  I don't know how old it is, but the seller claims it is about $1000 new and is offering me it to me for $600.  

I believe this is the scope I am considering:

I wanted to see what recommendations the group had concerning the prices and plausible alternatives.  The only thing I don't like about this site is the weight. Thanks for any advice.
