I know nearly everyone here has an edc knife.

I wanna hear what people are using for utility knives.

As a finish carpenter, having a sharp knife and a sharp pencil is essential in my daily work.

Personally I enjoy the type that use snap off blades, because you get multiple sharp points out of one blade.

I used to use the cheap orange plastic and black ones until I found this DeWalt

Anybody else found a better one, or one you really like?

Stanley 99. Carried the same knife for a very long time.

Small and tough.

Former carpenter, current tilesetter.

Yep, I don't use them often, but I have one in my toolbox, my desk drawer and one of my kitchen drawers. All left over from when I did use them a lot.

Retail grocery?
I have one in my pocket every day. Don't even hardly use it anymore but 25+ years of habit is hard to break.

I've used mine for 4-5 years every day and wouldn't be without one. Folding, fairly slim, and lockback.

A Stanley 10788 or a cheap folding utility knife for cutting square packing at work.

I'm surprised that a Finnish carpenter would need to be told about the Puukko.

Olfa utility knives are the ones I like. They lock up to what ever length you want.

My rough use knife is an Okapi 907.

I've got a Stanley 99 that was my grandfather's hanging on the pegboard in the garage and it gets used sometimes, a Mora is in every car and toolbox, but the Okapi gets a lot more use.

I can't have enough of these things.

I carry a Gerber E.A.B. daily for incidentals:

Same knife in front pocket for boxes and blister packs.

SOG auto in back pocket for actual work.

I much prefer the triangle blades (whatever they are called)
I've got 2 Kobalt folding ones I'm very happy with. I've also found Bosch blades are the best. Those TiN coated ones are crap. A quick touch up with a fine sharpening stone and the blades last a very long time.

If you're going to use it hard around construction--such as cutting roofing shingles, then the fixed blade is by far the best.  Stanley 10-599 for the win!

Just grabbed one of these from Home Depot because they were throwing in 75 blades. Made in USA too.

I keep this one clipped to my tool belt,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IA14854/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And the gerber EAB lite is always in my pocket way too small and handy not to be in my edc.

I use lennox gold blades buy them 50 at a time and seem to last be about a year at work.

Yup. I am spoiled and no longer have to wear toolbags. Hard on a brother to put a fixed blade in the back pocket.
