Heading home from the gym yesterday I was being followed by some putz kid in his riced up Cavalier.  At first I was mortified as hell that there was someone in my back-seat with a bad case of the Taco-Bell farts.  To my relief, I saw the abomination of a car pull up next to me, and I couldn't help but laugh as he revved his massive four-banger, causing it to scream like a dying mouse through his twin one inch tail-pipes... I just need a good fix of some real cars... whatcha got?

Be careful, brother. Some of those little 4-bangers might give you a run for your money. They might sound like crap, but the new Chevy Cobalt SS runs very low 14-second ETs. I'm guessing your car does too...

Nice Chevelle, though. The 1970-72 was my favorite body style of the bunch!

in before the ricer burners (its a muscle car really guys!!  it has a wing that makes it go fast!!!)

i've posted it before, but here is my ex-'64 riviera.  425 cubic inches of american made badassness.  plus i was the only one on the block with one.  heck i think i was the only one in the region with one  i sure do miss it some days

but that's ok, i have this now to keep me occupied.  i'm not sure what one is more fun

I wouldn't doubt they could... but could they consider their cars an investment worth more than they put into it?  :)   Plus I don't think a Cobalt is gonna grab the attention of any fine females...  I'm just a muscle car purist.  I like what can be done with smaller motors now, but equalize the upgrades (N/A vs. N/A, turbo vs turbo, etc...) and I'd bet a small block V8 will win 95% of the time.

Usually. Until you get to the mega-HP level. Then cubic inches mean nothing. Horsepower levels are dependent on turbo sizing and head flow. That is why you will see turbocharged V8 drag cars and turbocharged 4-banger drag cars running similar ETs. Pretty weird, really...

Any future plans for your Chevelle besides the 700R4?

It's my buddies Chevelle that I driveway sit. Of course I have the keys and full privileges to beat on it.

It has Eibach lowering springs and a full Hotchkis suspension kit. I believe it's a Sport rake Eibach. It's not the lowest they offer for the Chevelle. Those are 18x9 and 18x10 Boyd Coddington Smoothies.

I've got a set of original 70 SS wheels to get refinished for it, and I plan on taking it back to the original factory white interior.  I'd like to upgrade the suspension with some nicer shocks and a rear disc conversion.  Otherwise I'm not sure... I'm content with mild, but I wouldn't mind wild, either... but something about a numbers matching 'Velle that makes you wanna leave it alone, too.

We'll see how time pans out... I always end up spending car money on guns. :( lol

Not really. I will be the first to say (since I also own a turbo 6 cylinder) that small motors can really haul. Look no further than your own vehicle. BUT, in the world of drag racing, cubic inches is always king.

A big cube motor with a big turbo or a blower will flat out make more power all other factors being equal. Your turbo sizing and head flow comment does hold water though, those are both critical to making big power. But tell the guys running 800+ ci blown alcohol funny cars that cubic inches mean nothing and I bet they will get a good laugh. They don't spend the big bucks on their huge motors for nothing

Got any pics of your Supra? Love those cars

Does "modern" muscle count? The Cobra has a Steigmeier Stage IV ported blower, 2.76" pulley, exhaust, intake, springs, Saleen wheels, etc.  It still doesn't want any of the yellow car, though.  Wish I could claim that one - it's my Dad's.

I've found some hoods online. They're pricey, but worth it I think. I've seen others put them on a '69 also. So it's doable. It's just the price I'm worried about...
