ETA: Link incorrect off Drudge:

CNN comes in a shocking 4th on election night...

PRIMETIME (8-11 PM/ET)

FOXNEWS: 4,043,000 viewers (1,130,000 in A25-54)

MSNBC: 974,000 viewers(308,000 in A25-54)

HEADLINE NEWS: 842,000 viewers(341,000 in A25-54)

CNN: 826,000 viewers (227,000 in A25-54)...

ETA: so when will the administration pass legislation to bailout (or otherwise "level" the playing field) for the underacheiving Administration Cheerleaders?

ANyone want to bet real money that leaders of CNN are all sitting around, scratching their heads and wondering WTF is happening?

Election 2009 didn't prove nearly as successful as Election 2008 for CNN.

Whereas big news nights like Election Night were CNN's bread and butter during the 2008 presidential campaign, the network finished fourth Tuesday night, averaging just 826,000 total viewers in primetime and 227,000 in the Adults 25-54 demographic.

Fox News ratings soared to an average of 4,043,000 total viewers and 1,130,000 A25-54 to easily win the night and beat all three cable news competitors combined in both total viewers and the demo. MSNBC placed second in total viewers an average of 974,000 to HLN's 842,000. In the demo, HLN placed second with 341,000 to MSNBC's 308,000.

HLN did not cover the election returns.

CNN is so liberal, they will be on welfare.

Adios, al-CNN!

They all suck ass.

Watch the morning shows for a real hoot.
Anytime News Organizations want to report on Ewoks and cookies or have people leering through the window behind the talking heads you just know there is nothing useful that you will learn from that program.

Delbert and Noreen holding up a sign that says "Go Cheetahs" behind the newscasters is entertaining but not informative.

Opinion Shows do not belong on news channels either.

They are all opinions, the only variance is in how subtle they are.

I disagree with this singular part: I think there is certainly a place for "INTERPRETATIONAL" opinions on the news (ie Glenn Beck, O'reilly or that fat slobbering guy from CNN - Lou Dobbs). However I agree it is important to be very, very clear in distinguishing the two - and I think Beck does a pretty good job of that.

Report the news all day, but then recap it with critical questions and point out the flaws in the "official news release from the White House Media Corps" is a good thing for the general public, and part of the role of the press IMHO. The tricky part is when journalists interweave their opinions into selectively assymilating facts into their "unbiased" reports.

Sure they do.

Just because some libtard administration can't tell the difference between an opinion program and a news show doesn't mean that the opinion show isn't valid that it shouldn't be carried on the news channel.

Link Posted: 11/5/2009 3:27:28 AM EST
Damn - all THREE of the libtards ratings added together are less than Fox.

Sweet, isn't it?

The only channel that isn't a "REAL" news channel is outrunning them by leaps and bounds.

It makes me smile.

As bad as CNN is I can't believe MSLSD is beating them as they are just fucking terrible.
Maybe these lib channels will realize that biased lies will not get you anywhere in the ratings.

Absolutely... they just need to be clearly labeled as that. Let straight news be straight news... and opinion be opinion.

Welll, EVERYONE knows that Fox News isn't REAL news...so they don't count.

My problem with CNN is when it became a bunch of feel good stories and politics.

Even the "reporters" were acting like political analysts.

Fox does this too but nowhere near the extent of CNN and the others.

Just give me the news. Tell me what happened and is happening.

I don't need you to tell me what to think about it nor do I want your opinion.

Link Posted: 11/5/2009 4:49:17 AM EST
If you can't tell what is "opinion" and what is "news" you have to be fucking retarded....

Also, what gets a lack of discussion sometimes is that bias can be shown in not just HOW a story is reported, but CHOOSING which stories to run. This is where Fox surges ahead. They were the only ones reporting on the ACORN things, until people started to be interested, then the others picked it up.

OR, look at the news on GW. If it was negative, or could put a negative spin on it, CNN and others would pounce all over it, regardless of validity. Think the fake reports on GW's military record.

Let's put this in perspective. Fox news has almost double the viewers of the other networks COMBINED. Amazing.

These news organiztions don't understand something about Liberals. Liberals are liberals b/c it feels good, not because they pay attention to what is going on around them. In other words, most people who vote liberal are uninformed b/c they don't watch the news, don't read about politics and therefore won't be watching FOX, MSNBC or CNN. Conservatives however, do pay attention to these things and that is why FOX has high numbers.

News Corp. Lifts Forecast as Profit Beats Estimates

At the cable unit, operating income rose 41 percent to $495 million, bolstered by Fox News, the leader in prime-time cable news. Fox News had its highest-ever quarterly profit, increasing operating income by 79 percent, News Corp. said.

Another big reason is I doubt that the Democrats could stand to watch the outcomes Tuesday night so, like Obama, didn't watch.

Love it when Fox has more viewers than all the rest combined.

Fuck cnn they lost all credibility when in 2004 they showed video of some JBT shooting a full-auto AK-47 machinegun and claimed MGs was what the klinton ban prohibited.

So Fox isn't a news network, it's a money machine.

Now imagine if FNC had a prime channel location like CNN and HLN in the low 200s on DTV.
