Legislature Toughens Against Illegal Immigrant Crime

Dealing with crime committed by illegal immigrants may become one of the most debated issues when the state Legislature convenes next year.

A panel of Georgia House and Senate lawmakers met Wednesday with more than a dozen law enforcement officials from across the state to get ideas for legislation that would crack down on crime committed by undocumented immigrants.

The officers told lawmakers they often have difficulties in identifying and tracking immigrants who commit crimes. Many said they are seeing increased activity in metro Atlanta by Asian and Hispanic gangs often with a majority of illegal immigrants.

They asked lawmakers for help in stamping out fake identification cards.

Some Georgia lawmakers say the state Legislature should consider stricter policies such as banning illegal immigrants from social services and penalizing companies that hire undocumented laborers.

State Senator Chip Rogers, a Republican from Woodstock, and state Representative John Lunsford, a Republican from McDonough, were in charge of the immigration meeting at the state Capitol.

How about making their illegal invasion of this country..........ah,..........um,..............ILLEGAL.


We don't need more laws. We need to enforce the ones we already have. Round them up and deport them.

We have illegals knocking off pawn shops and shooting at cops with AKs in the middle of traffic at 11am, raping and murdering toddlers, etc. The one that killed the little girl (she was 4) had already been deported once. These two incidents happened within a one week time period 30 miles apart.

Mine the border.........and string up some concentina wire.

The invasion has begun, the reports illegal immigrant violence is just training.

Thats what I was saying in another thread, they are talking about passing more laws in washington
illegals are already illegal that is why we call them illegals, heh

all this talk of doing something is just a smokescreen while they work to pass legislation
for guest worker programs or some other legislation to give them citizenship
once that happens, there is no more legal recourse because they will be "legals"

I have been reading that child molesting\raping\kidnapping\killing are very high incidence crimes with illegals
