Hi everyone, just ordered a carbine kit from model 1 the other day i'll be getting it tomorrow i can't wait. I'm not 21 just yet got a few weeks to go can I still go to a dealer and buy a lower? If so what will I need and have to go threw to get it? Thanks

In N.Y.C. I believe you have to be 21. In N.Y.S. I believe you have to be 18. I think this is correct, but don't do anything untill you verify this. Call your local shop and ask. Hope this helps. Steve.

You should be able to buy one in NY at 18, NY members am I right?

Federal law is 18 on a "long gun". State may pose stricter law, but I beleive NY state is 18....

There's no federal law on age to purchase - just federal age requirements to purchase from a licensed dealer. You must be 21 to purchase a handgun, or 18 to purchase a long gun from an FFL. State law generally sets the age for possession and purchase, and could be more or less restrictive than the federal regs for dealers.

18 to purchase under federal law, 16 in NYS to possess unless restricted by local law. Forget NYC. AW's are banned in NYC and all long guns must be registered.

Thanks for all the info, just got back with my dpms lower, i'll be putting it all together later tonight any links to detailed diagrams for the lower I have ar-15/m-16 assembly disassembly........but the picture of the lower isn't great. Thanks again guys
