I was looking around a Sporting Goods store a little while ago and noticed some aftermarket sling swivel/stud kits for common rifles, like Ruger 10/22, Remington 700, Winchester 94, etc. But when I looked the boxes closely, I noticed that they all had a “this product contains lead” warning, despite being labeled as “all-steel construction.”

What’s the deal? What part of the swivels or studs contains the lead? Should I worry about lead exposure?

Thank’s to anyone who can answer this for me.
