Hopefully not a dupe, even so....learn spanish.

Now it might just be me; however it seems that everytime that we get news like this it is BEHIND the curve. Personally I have no doubt that the Communists/Rebels from south of the border have been getting trained by the terrorists for years. How many of the illegals are terrorists???

How many? What are they trained to do? When are they going to strike?

When is this country going to be like Israel when suicide bombs and truck bombs become commonplace?

If even 1 percent of the illegals over the past decade are terror trained......we are up against a standing army within our own borders.

Shit.

Aren't you glad that we have weapons.

We need a real Border Guard Service, just like the Germans and Israelies have. To seal the Mexican Border apart from the NAFTA mandated ports of entry. There we can consentrate all our ICE agents to search their vehicles and run their papers.

Using South/Latin American as a base of operations to launch attacks against the U.S. is a concern; recruiting people from among the population there is not. There are too many cultural differences to make that workable.

Strange Bedfellows.

The rebels and Commies in South America make anywhere south of the border dangerous for Americans. One of my very good friends is a pilot for American Airlines and flys all over South America. He relates the danger that Norte Americanos are in down there.

A goodly number of South Americans are jealous of the USA and that can be used by Al-Qaeda to recruit. Plus Al-Qaeda is smart enough to not advertise under their Muslim banner, just an anti-American banner. Don't forget these people are liars and manipulators of ignorant, poor, frustrated people. Plenty of those down there.

"Governments throughout Mexico and Central America are on alert as evidence grows that Al Qaeda (search) members are traveling in the region and looking for recruits to carry out attacks in Latin America"

Fucking great....

Latin America is Christian too. They face the same threat we do.

True, but only after the SA's are duped into attacking us THEN it will be their turn. This really does scare me...

Any group of people in any land where anti-US sentiment is strong are succeptable to the preachings of AQ. South America, Central America and Mexico are certainly recruiting grounds for terrorist org's.
There are many countries who wish our demise and those countrymen can be swayed into recruitment.

Our CIA relationships with SA, CA and Mexico is not what it once was.

Anti-Americanism down there is one thing. It already exists, and nothing Al Qaeda will do will make it much better or much worse for Americans down there. It's a different set of problems entirely. Kidnappings, drug-dealers, and communist terrorists, oh my. Any American that has been there knows what danger already exists, and that it comes from many different groups for many different reasons.

Getting South/Latin Americans to come up here and start trouble is another issue entirely. It's not going to happen. Al Qaeda will never be able to convince a bunch of provincial-minded, Catholic-raised (even if not religious) Latin American rebels to come all the way to the US and pull anything resembling terrorist attacks off. That goes for whatever banner they advertise under. The cultural mindset is just not there.

Al Qaeda also really doesn't have a good reason to conduct attacks down there. It would be the stupidest thing they could do. It would have the effect of forcing a bunch of people that really don't care or even dislike the US into the US camp, and of tightening security and taking away the one benefit they can get from the region.

Now, using the lax security and corruption of those nations down there to set up a forward base of operations is a different story entirely and is entirely possible. It would be the smart move for them. Given the situation down there, not too many people are going to stick around to ask questions if they see anything suspicious, even something like a military-style training camp. In addition, it's geographically favorable and the southern US border is a mess.

Of course, the above must be followed with a disclaimer. Extremists see the world filtered through their extreme point of view. Just because it doesn't make sense to a normal person, doesn't mean they won't try. It just means they won't succeed if they do.

Latin America — the potential last frontier for international terrorism.

Hate to nitpick Fox news, but Im up against former IRA shitheads training the Cartels, so its not the frontier anymore, its settled ground.

Recently found the British Small Arms Air Defense manual translated into spanish in one of the labs. It worked well as today we lost one Helo and had 2 others so shot up that it will be 7-10 days till they are flyable again.
