Vandy 1 Navy BUNO 164604 was lowered into position at the gate of NAS Oceana at lunchtime
today.
Looking a little different tht the last time I saw her at Mugu a few years ago.


The former static YF-14A, 157988, getting it's last tow.  
I was informed by those in the know that it's going to be scrapped.

Why the hell do they paint the canopys like that?  I think the black canopy is just ugly as hell.

Probably so you can't see the gutted out cockpit.

That and for UV protection of the cockpit. Plus the canopy might be a non-RFI unit that is all scratched up.
