For those that are unaware, the TSA is trying to end corporate aviation. Basically, any aircraft with a MTOW over 12.5k will be required to have it's passengers screened just like an airline. In addition, the aircraft will only be able to operate in and out of airports will the ability to screen the passengers and crew. This will cost the airports, and aircraft operators, millions for the privelege of the TSA's security. Most (5k+) airports will not be able to burden this increased cost to operate, thus ending the ability to fly into said airports. Please click on the NBAA link to send a letter to your representatives to end this BS.
Thanks!

Just think, a Global Express all the way down to a Citation is a threat today, tomorrow a 172.

It would be nice to know how to just make them stop with all their "brilliant" ideas .  Can a 'cease and desist' be brought in some way?  I'm serious.

The TSA didn't even get opinions from the industry (getting them is the typical thing to do) and are trying to ram it down their throats

On the way.

The TSA is so wildly out of there league on this one.  I got into a screaming match with the blue-shirts at a checkpoint the other day, incompetent, stuffed shirt jobsworth assholes.  They called the cops on me

What ever you do, don't get the crash fire axe out of your A/C and show them!

Its not just the TSA.  The local NBC affiliate made a huge fuss on last night's local TV news about the hazard to humanity represented by the heavy biz-jets left "doors open, unmanned, with their engines running" during last week's NFL Championship football game." This allegedly took place at non-commercial airports in the PHX area last weekend. Don't believe for a second that engines were running––APU maybe.

People have done more damage with a rental truck that with a GA aircraft.

Let me guess, they smelled mouthwash on your breath and thought you had been drinking?

Ah yes, the classic 5 inches from your face "Good morning Captain!"  Always a favorite.

Actually, they forbade me, a crewmember, from using the completely empty "premium passenger" security lane, then blamed the locally hubbed carrier for the policy.  Apparently when you question a bureaucrat's execution they infer that you are challenging their authority, and they in turn respond with maximum levels of bullshit.  The 6 police officers that responded were even more cordial.  We almost rubbed hats as the spittle flew.

Just to fully illustrate the ludicrous nature of the TSA plan.  In the context of national security:

This King Air 200 is classed with hang gliders.

This King Air 350 is a weapon of mass destruction.

My Cessna 177RG has a useful load of 1100 pounds. I am certain it will carry more.

That means any tactical nuke could be carried on my aircraft. In fact, enough high explosive could be carried to do serious damage.

Sure, the G550 carries 40,000 pounds of fuel and has a total mass of 90,000 pounds. It still can't carry much load inside.

A PC-12 can carry more.
