Dell, Win XP.
The desktop will load up, but if I click on anything, either nothering happens or the hourglass will appear, then back to the arrow pointer and nothing happens. Trying to run a virus scan or set it back to a different date and can't do it  !!Help this computer idiot out  .

Sounds like a corrupted driver or something. |

Right when the computer is booting up, you can hit like F5 or one of those other F-keys (might have to experiment) to get to the control screen. At that time you can probably load your restore diskette to get the unit running.

Got it, it was F8. I started my computer to an earlier date, now it works fine
 . Thanks
