Holy shit!  What happened to Romero?

Groundbreaking NOTLD...unbelievably awesome DOTD...somewhat suckie DayOTD but that was forgivable considering how awesome DOTD was.  And then this steaming piece of PC crap?

OMFG, I don't even know what to single out for ridicule.

I just hope Zack Snyder does a kick-ass version of Day of the Dead.  His DOTD2004 was great and he is a shooter in real life so I have high hopes for his Day of the Dead (and 300 for that matter).

I liked Day of the Dead as well (Filmed at the Gateway Commerce Center cause its about 15mins away from my house.  NOTLD and DawnOTD were awesome too.

LOTD wasn't horrible.

New Dawn was good.  I too hope the new DayOTD is good.  My perfect zombie movie is basically big ass city is overrun with zombies and the whole movie is about them getting through the city alive.

The old Dawn started of great with the city being taken over and them trying to escape.  I would have liked to see more of the City/US getting take over by zombies.  That would make for a great zombie flick.

dawn of the dead (2000's) was the best zombie movie ever made
land of the dead should have went straight to video
I have no idea what Romero was thinking with that pile of crap

night of the living dead was decent  ( outstnading for the era)
Dawn of the Dead (1979?) was also a good movie ( again outstnding for the era)
Day of the dead ( 1980?) was also OK in my book  ( and i would say better than average for the era)

I was pissed I spent money to see it

It was a zombie movie that didn't totally suck. I'll take that over whatever Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt/George Clooney or whatever else suckfest is at the theater. Plus the name Dead Reckoning was awsome.

I liked it

maybe that's because I like Asia whateverhernameis.

honestly, I think the insane brutality of the zombies in this one (ripping off a guys head, tearing another's face off), is what made it for me.

definately though a few nekked chics wudda done it for me.

It was lame. DOTD 2004 owns every movie Romero has ever made.

I think Romero just lucked out with Dawn. Dawn was a great mvie because it's almost on the same level of fantasy as Red Dawn. Wishing you could be in that situation so you could see what you're made of. The fact that the people do what a lot of people dream of --moving into a mall and loading up on guns-- made it even better. The effects were kinda cheesey, but I guess they were tops for their time.

Day, for the most part sucked, but the gore and zombie make-up effects were incredible and that's the main reason I loved it.

I never liked NOTLD. I didn't think Creepshow was all that special... and IIRC Romero wasn't the "father of zombie movies". There were others before his, he just made one that happened to go so mainstream he got all the credit for the genre.

Land of the Dead... it blew ass.

What was the whole "I'm gonna make the zombies think" theme that he had going on?

Dude, they're fucking ZOMBIES!

probably because it was something that hasn't been done before.  So they wanted to give it a shot.  At the end of LOTD they try to give the impression that zombies and the living can possibly co-exist if only seperated...

Very disappointing.  Zack Snyder's not doing a remake of Day of the Dead, or at least, there's nothing on IMDB saying so.

Seen Return of the Living Dead? Talking zombies... and they thought pretty well to hop on the mic and ask for more cops and paramedics...

Did he rip off the books, Land of the Dead and City of the Dead or what? Intelligent zombies and a "savior" that holes up the lone surviving humans in an office building...

Yeah, it BLEW.  It was almost as bad as the Doom movie, which ranks as one of the most dissapointing films ever made.

Dawn '04 and Resident Evil 2 are the top of the top.  RE2 almost gets a win, due to the much better gun porn.

Just watched the DVD and I was fast fowarding through the whole ending.  It was one of the most painful movies to watch.  I was only thinking "when is this dumb shit going to end".

Oh it's there alright, but it looks like our man Zack is not involved in this one.

I compare this to "Escape from New York".

The first one <recent Dawn/Dead> rocked completely, the second one was painful to watch. As if the second one wanted to simply use the plot vehicle of the first one to make a "powerful message".

That's too bad.  To listen to the commentary in DOTD2004 he has a sense of humor that is just frickin' hysterical.
And I really liked his version of a zombie plague.

I can't wait to see 300.

Only redeaming feature was the use of the M1 Carbine.  Next to an AR, that may be the perfect zombie weapon.
