Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if you all could help me out with some potential gift ideas for my missus?  A little bit about her....

She's a bit of a tom-boy, but still feminine at the same time.  She likes to do outdoor stuff.  She's been hiking and camping since she was a child.  She digs guns and asked me to buy her a Glock (which I happily did ).  She's really in to photography but has kind of strayed a little from it the last couple years.  She's addicted to Carmex and has a sweet tooth.  She's a fantastic cook and loves to cook for me and others.  She's a paramedic so has a great twisted sense of humor.  She's a very private person.  She is capable of whipping ass and not caring about names.

I have already bought her:

- a Patagonia Fleece
- a Katadyn Vario water filter for her backpacking
- I got her a diamond ring about a week ago
- and she's now driving her dream car (2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee)

I love her a lot and just want to spoil her and treat her like she deserves.  I don't get to do a lot for her, and I just want her to know I love her and appreciate all her hard work.  And to keep with Arfcom tradition a picture of her is below...although she has lost about 50 lbs since this photo was taken at our wedding in 2009.  I appreciate all you ladies help!

Is that a clan sash? Pretty wife you have.

I would love to have a trip with my husband. Maybe you two can go on a trip somewhere?

I totally agree with the trip suggestion.  Plan every detail, showing that you thought of her at each stage.  You could even make it low-cost in certain aspects, like taking her on a fantastic hiking trip she's never done, and packing a lunch with all of her favorite foods.

The fun thing about women is that there are certain items that we could own 100 of and still not have enough–– things like clothing accessories (or kitchen gadgets!) come to mind.  Do you live where it gets cold in the winter?  I personally love socks, and can never have enough fun pairs, especially wool socks.  You could even incorporate small gifts as part of the hiking trip if you decide to take the hike.  Along the trip, when you stop for a breather or a water break, take out a small gift, like new socks, a very effeminate scarf, small jewelry, a personalized coffee or tea mug if she's a hot beverage drinker and surprise her.

Excuse my gushing, but I love the way you talk about your wife, and I hope you have a wonderful time together, regardless of what you decide to do.  She's lovely!

A trip is a great idea! if you go with the socks (above post) smart wool socks are amazing, and can be bought at almost any sporting goods store or at their web site.  Fun and different cook books come to mind get her one with things she hasnt tried, if you have a half priced books near you they have some fun cook books there and a lot of them dont looked used at all.  If she likes the outdoors, take her to the BWCA here in MN.  Go in the spring or summer if you dont like winter camping.  The BWCA is amazing! Or if she likes hunting, there are spots in the BWCA were you can hunt, take a long weekend and go duck hunting.  If she is into guns, buy her parts to start an AR-15.
Good luck with the gift hunting!

I got mine an Auto start for her car. These -30 degree mornings suck. So now she pushes a button and we can stay in bed a lil while longer

Umm, Smart Wool socks.  They're like a cult thing.  I'm wiggling my toes in a pair even as I type.

I like the hiking trip also, before the trip you could carve both your initals in a tree with a heart, in the middle of nowhere. Note the latitude/longitude on your gps and show it to her when you get there
