Why let the AR forum have all the fun? Let us see what you carry on duty. Duty rifles, SWAT rifles, whatever you carry in the car with you all day.
The please tell us: 1) What works for you 2) What doesn't work for you 3) What your "perfect" duty rifle would be This need not just be AR-15 style rifles. If you work with it, we want to see it. Thanks! |

If you post your actual gun, hide the serial number........ |

What kind of flashlight is that LPD? and is that on a FSB mount? If so, you like that? Thanks! |

Our stupid chief won't let us carry rifles. Says we don't "need" them. |

Yup, no rifle for me, chief don't like 'em. We are supposed to get 7615's later this year. |

Thanks for posting. I hope he never has to use his training. The blaze orange is crazy. |

Actually, the idea of rifles is somewhat new in our Department. Good thing is that when our other Chief took off, he was replaced by one that came from a big agency and has implemented several benefitting items/upgrades. IMHO tho, along with purchasing rifles for the Department, he also allows you to buy your own (or carry your own if you already have one). Opens up the options. It is a tool, that may never be used... but I would like for it to be there in the event that it ever needs to be. |

On a teeny side note... is that a TD grip on your AR and if so, how you like that? Was thinking of upgrading to that... |

I generally use an SLR15 Commander. Occasionally you might find me with a different configuration, MP5 or Shotgun, depending on the specific mission. I am a firm believer in keeping the weapons systems practical and simple. I prefer A1 uppers with same plane sight apertures, fixed stocks, & a full length sight radius as it aids in accuracy easier and protects the barrel (after all why would anyone put snubnosed sights on a 6" revolver?). It sure is good to see working rifles. I am tired of all the "look how pretty my rifle is" pictures. Mine is so scratched up and worn from being taken in and out of a patrol car on a daily basis. My rifle knows where home is, in the mount next to my right shoulder, ready when I need it. Not in a box in the closet.

+1 Well said! |

It is surely nice to see a MAD backup sight mounted. I use the same exact set-up as you with the only difference is the Stock. Mine is the Colt M4 stock. It is also a pleasure to see a rifle that is working in the field with a few bumps and scratch. Tell tale signs of a working rifle. |

I don't mean to be....nitpicky...but how well does your rifle eject with your magazine up so far that it appears to be blocking the trapdoor from fully opening? |

You will be pleased to know all the psycadelic Orange has been replaced with the uber tactical black (ARFCom approved) now. Taffy |
