For a second I thought maybe he'd be doing it on a dare or as some type of gag. But I think he was serious.

I second that notion, and move to adjourn

If any more proof is needed that police are their own worst enemy, I can't imagine what it would be.

"Don't quit get fired from your day job."

Oops, too late

I would be curious to see if this clown is really a deputy or just posing.

If he is a cop, the guy is a complete moron. He would NEVER live this down if he worked here. He would probably quit due to harassment over such an idiotic move.

I'm not sure about civilian LEO, but as far as military goes, you're not allowed to wear your uniform for anything like that. It's something about 'professionalism'..

Link Posted: 1/19/2006 6:20:05 AM EST
Man, I can't believe that they have a public web page that details names, unit numbers and assignments.....
Link Posted: 1/19/2006 11:45:59 AM EST
That has "termination for 'conduct unbecoming'" written all over it.

I'm pretty sure at least someone at the agency already knows about it... just guessing.

You think that's bad, I was on an episode of cops showing some damn plumber's crack because my shirt had come untucked when I was on the ground.

....now when I tell people that I'm on COPS I tell them it was for a crack problem.

Pretty embarassing, but hey....that's my life.

Maybe not, but think about this:

In college, three of my roommates were frat guys (I was the only GDI). One was the (I don't know what the proper term is, but he was essentially the) disciplinarian. He handed out punishment for wrongs committed by frat members.

The punishments were *always* much more severe for offenses committed when the guys were displaying the frat's letters (loose equivalent of being "in uniform"). There was a reason for this.

That's hilarious, npd. The admonition at the end (that there will always be someone watching w/ a vid camera) reminds me of the scene from the Starsky & Hutch remake when they do the "two dragons" in order to get intel from Will Ferrel's character........
