You've got it wrong.   The LA Times does not think guns are good.  John Lott thinks guns are good.  The article was an opinion piece printed in the LA Times.   The article does not represent the opinion of the Publisher or the editors of the Times--in fact, the LA Times is a vehement opponent of 2nd amendment rights.

Damn right I about had a coronary when I saw that title.  the times is one of the worst rags on gun control anywhere.  I wouldn't even use it to clean up spilled Hoppes.

Yeah, but they do deserve some credit for even printing it in the first place.
