Wife is beginning to get a little concerned about the area she works in and is considering self-defense options. Guns are a no go because she doesn't have the experience, temperament, and the company does not allow it. However, I think it would be worth carrying a non-lethal device. Considered an expandable baton, but that still requires a fairly close encounter. Don't want traditional pepper spray because of all the variables that could go wrong (wind, weather, distance.) Tasers are single shot and hope they aren't wearing a thick jacket. So I'm looking at the Kimber Pepper Blaster. Watched several YoutTube reviews, and I could watch people get shot in the face with this thing all day. You can tell who was a serious reviewer, and who took a drunken dare.
Anyway, has anyone owned or used one of these, or has any first or second hand knowledge of anyone who actually defended themselves with one? Seems like the high-speed stream helps offset wind-effect, and the fact that it's a gel seems like it would stick instead of fogging back in her face. And it's a double-shot. Thoughts or alternatives?
