I saw a DU post ... some woman on television suggested that a drawn out recount process would be damaging ... the DU poster's response: strip her of citizenship and send her to gitmo

This is gonna make us look bad infront of our enemies AND bring down the stock market as it adds uncertanty.  However if we win other states, it becomes irrelevent.

The last time I checked we are up by one in the supreme court.  I hope to fuck this does not go to the supreme court.  If we can pull out IA and maybe WI(doubtful on WI)  it will be a moot point.

If GWBush can maintain 51% or more of the popular vote - the public will have absolutely NO appetite or tolerance for some fork-tongued jackals dragging the election results into court.

The ONLY reason Gore was able to continue his despicable defecation on the electoral process in 2000 was because 1) Florida was very, very close AND 2) he won the popular vote nationally.

No way the people (maybe not even the leftists in the media) will tolerate having the entire election thrown before a couple judges again if GWBush is showing 51%+ of the vote.

Bush is currently ahead in the popular vote by more than 3 MILLION.

Kerry will have to concede.

In 2000, it was "hanging chads."

In 2004, it will be "provisional ballots."

Kerry is contesting Ohio now, stating that the provisional ballots will put him ahead and give him Ohio. Baloney! The difference in votes is not within the 0.25% needed for the activation of provisional votes being counted - which means - his "lawyers" will demand that "every vote be counted" so the other voters aren't "disenfranchised". Can you spell F-L-O-R-I-D-A? Talk about your sore losers!

BTW and FWIW... GWBush will certainly get MORE votes and a HIGHER percentage than AlGore got in 2000 - and Kerry will very probably get LESS votes and a LOWER percentage than GWBush got in 2000.

As a TX resident living overseas in 2000, I never even bothered to do an absentee ballot.  I would have this year, though, knowing how much the libs were pocusing on the popular vote.  I am not sure if the numbers this year support my theory, but I am guessing turnout of voters in many of the strongly red states was higher, just so people wouldn't have to here the "they lost the popular vote" crap again.
