The BRAC committee should just write Keesler AFB off and keep a base that was slated for closure open. What do you think?

sure why not. Just don't send those tech schoolers to Nellis.

I went to school at Keesler. Seems a shame to loose it. But it does make sense to raze the land and keep another base open. I wonder what all those troops in school are gona do that are in the middle of their schooling.

I work at Robins AFB, the word we heard from the Keesler Base Commander is that Keesler sustained between 800 and 900 Million Dollars in damage. Every single building sustained heavy damage and there is NO housing left.

That sounds like a very good idea. But, this base may be there for an important reason.

It would have to be a base along the Gulf Coast somewhere or very near it. That's the reason why this weather recon wing is stationed there.

But yes, your idea would make sense and save on the cost of rebuilding.

I'm sure they're shoveling mud, passing out stuff at shelters, filling sandbags, etc. Plenty of menial labor to go around.

I went to school there also i wonder how the shelters and dorms fared against the hurricane. Looks like Dolan hall came close to being flooded i wonder how Alley hall came out of it.
