Hahaha! And I have 100 acres of swampland to sell. Everyone thought this was the only bad bill pending in kalifornia: AB 2222 (Koretz) Would regulate/ban .50 caliber “sniper rifles” in the same way as machine guns. But wait! There's more! Woo hoo! SB 510 (Scott) Used to be loaded-chamber indicator/magazine disconnect safety requirement for handguns. January amendments now merely delays the trigger lock requirement on certain shotguns and rifles until February 2003 due to the unavailability of proper devices. Passed Public Safety 5-1 on January 18th. Has been held over on the Assembly Floor since January 24th. SB 682 (Perata) Similar to AB 496 would increase liability exposure of firearms manufacturers, distributors and dealers. Meant to counter recent CA Supreme Court ruling. Created at very end of last session. In Assembly Judiciary Committee. SB 1490 (Perata) “This bill would add city attorneys who are prosecuting a civil action to the list of officials who may obtain (state gun registry) information.” Senate Public Safety hearing April 2nd. SB 1670 (Scott) This bill would prohibit the sale of firearms safety devices that are not on the list of state approved devices. This means you would not be able to purchase a cable lock type device for your gun(s) even if you preferred it to the “approved” locking devices for your gun. Senate Public Safety Committee hearing April 9th. SB 1807 (Chesbro) This bill would make it easier to confiscate firearms at the scene of domestic violence incidents and make it harder to get the firearms returned later. Senate Public Safety hearing April 9th. AB 22 (Lowenthal) “This bill would … prohibit the duly constituted licensing authority of a city (or) county …authorized to grant licenses permitting licensees to sell firearms at retail within the city (or) county… from granting licenses to any applicant to sell out of a residential dwelling.” Provides exceptions for rural counties, gunsmiths and curio and relic dealers. Passed Assembly floor 47-23 on March 22nd, 2001. Passed Senate Public Safety 4-1 on July 12th. Placed on Inactive File in Senate. Could be heard any day. AB 496 (Koretz) “Existing law provides that every one is responsible for the result of willful acts and for injury to another occasioned by his or her want of ordinary care or skill in the management of his or her person or property, as specified. This bill would provide, in addition, that these provisions apply to the design, distribution, and marketing of firearms and ammunition. Existing law provides that no firearm or ammunition shall be deemed defective in design for purposes of a products liability action, on the basis that the benefits of the product do not outweigh the risk of injury posed by the potential to cause serious injury, damage, or death when discharged, as specified. This bill would repeal those provisions.” Bill was amended August 21st to combat recent CA Supreme Court decision protecting firearms manufacturers from liability resulting from misuse of their products. Senate Judiciary Comm.

(continued) AB 1219 (Frommer) Would prohibit sale of handguns after January, 2006 “unless that firearm includes an integrated mechanical safety device or other incorporated design technology that is designed to prevent children and other unauthorized users from discharging the handgun…The technology …may include, but is not limited to, radio tagging, touch memory, remote control, fingerprint, magnetic encoding, and other automatic user identification systems using biometrics, mechanical and electronic systems.” RECENT AMENDMENTS DROPPED “NEWLY MANUFACTURED” LIMITATION. THIS BILL WILL NOW ABOLISH ALL USED HANDGUN SALES IN CALIFORNIA!!! Passed Assembly Floor 44-29 on June 7th. In Senate Public Safety. AB 2902 (Koretz) Would allow DOJ to re-test 10% of the handguns on the “safe handgun” list and permit the Attorney General to recall handguns that fail. Awaiting hearing in Assembly Public Safety.

I like AB2902. The part about being able to keep retesting guns until they fail and then CONFISCATING them really warms my heart. HAHA!

If 682 and 496 pass, I believe that the gunmakers should just withdraw from Kali completely and file suit against Kali for interfering with interstate commerce.

I hear there is one in the works that would require annual inspections of all Class III, SBR, & AW's collections. Simular to what FFL holders have to go through every year.

I just heard on the radio that Perata now wants to tax "bullets" to pay for the emergency room costs of gun violence. Good intentions, anyone?

Allege 1993 feinstein/hci master plan for TOTAL Gun Confiscation Dis-Armament. * Banning of all machine guns, destructive devices, short shotguns/ rifles, assault weapons, Saturday Night Specials and Non-Sporting Ammunition. _Five year Plan:_ _Licenses:_ 1 National Licensing of all Handgun purchases This is at the top of our list, however, the political climate may be right to initiate this step immediately. Please refer to our memo outlining our ideas on how this should be executed. 2 License for Rifle and Shotguns We should take our cues from Great Britain. Strict licensing should be mandatory for all firearms, whether handguns or not. 3 State Licenses for ownership of firearms We want to take a workable idea from Great Britain, whereas, we should require the states to issue strict licenses for possession and require the licenses to be signed by at least three public officials - i.e. the police chief, the city attorney and the mayor, for example, to eliminate ownership by dangerous individuals. It is reasonable to require that all individuals must prove to the signers that they require a firearm. This should be attached to any legislation required [sic] purchasers to show a need for a firearm 20 Banning of High Powered Ammo or Wounding ammo In addition to the banning of military calibers, there is a plethora of dangerous rounds which are too high powered for sporting use. This includes the highest calibers of pistol and rifle ammunition (of note are the monster calibers for rifles and pistols, like the .50 caliber Desert Eagle Bullet). We should not forget the lessons learned with the insidious Black Talon Ammo. Hollow points, Glaser killing rounds and other types of ammunition design [sic] specifically for maiming should be prohibited. a) Handgun License Fees: Year 1 to 2: Program can begin at a relatively low cost to discourage non-compliance: _Suggested Fee Schedule:_ _$50 - $75 annual fee_ Year 3 to 4: Fees would be raised to reflect the cost of enforcement and discourage new ownership: _Suggested Fee Schedule:_ _$150 - $250 annual fee_ Year 5 to 8: If private ownership has not been prohibited by this time then fees can be gradually increased to discourage private ownership: _Suggested Fee Schedule:_ _$550 - $625 annual fee_ b) Suggested penalties for non-compliance with licensing: (Penalties would have to be formally outlined by state and federal lawmakers) Another Coincidence. ^ www.cures-not-wars.org/ Truth Will Liberate Earth. They are trying to make up for the budget surplus Davis burned through as the result of his hair-brained power deals. IIRC, a couple of months ago they proposed something like an extra $1/pack tax on cigs, which caused a small eruption among smokers, who are tired of paying for everything (they already have $2/pack in taxes now I think). So, if they get their added cig tax, plus the ammo tax, they can say Davis did something constructive to address the lost budget surplus. Now, just maybe, the duck hunters and skeet shooters in this state will realize they have as much to lose as SUR owners.

I'am glad they have never let californication in the union and I wish they would seal the border and also hope they do not let them do that 3 millon person amnesty thing they want to do for those folks from ca. that are here illegally in the states. why do you in ca. always fool your selfs as you well know just like we do that the day will come very soon that firearms for the most part will no longer exist anymore in that state. just nut it up and let them ban them all and it will save you a few years of pain and suffering. you have lost that state so your best chance is to move someplace where you might be able to vote with people that think that freedom is more that being able to go to a starbucks and watching two fags making out at the next table. forget that state and even alot of army's have to fall backand regroup sometimes. I would pass on your neighbors to the north as they are going the same direction, you migt try nv or any of the other western states. we need you more than those other folks that want to sell their homes and move here and then complain about something has to be done to get rid of those darn deer and elk eating my flowers and the new saying ( I wish this place was more like california as there was no one carrying guns around there).

Yeah, MAYBE. You hit the nail RIGHT ON THE HEAD WITH THAT ONE. We got people who come in and buy ammo, or whatever, and I tell them about the 50 cal ban and they say something stupid like, "I don't know what you'd do with something like that anyway." So many gun owners are out there with their heads in the sand or they think these laws don't affect them. They're just kidding themselves. You take a little at a time and then before you know it, VOILA! Turn in yer guns buddy! I am soooo pissed off right now. KALIFORNIA - WAKE THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!!! You know, I don't give a damn if we have to close the store down b/c of all these freakin laws. Bring it on. But where are Kalifornians gonna get their guns???? "Oh, there used to be this really cool gun store over in Anaheim, and I hadn't been in in about 6 months, and they were gone. Hmm, maybe they went bankrupt, maybe they moved..." WHATEVER! Maybe you had your head up your A$$ and they couldn't sell anything but rubber bands and marbles! We are DONE WITH PUSSYFOOTIN AROUND! IF YOU DON'T VOTE, IF YOU DON'T CARE, then we don't want to sell you anything anyways! When we're gone - and we will be if these things pass - we'll get regular jobs, or move the biz to a FREE STATE!!! but where ya gonna git yer guns then eh? You won't be able to buy hunting rifles, shotguns, ANYTHING. Check out this report from the Violence Policy Center. http://www.vpc.org/studies/rooffive.htm THis is all you need to know. They are after 50s now, but next is .408 cheyenne, and 338 win mag and lapua, then 300 cuz thats reall big too, then 308 cuz that's a military cartridge, and 30-06 and 270 cuz those are just as big, et-freakin-cetera! I gotta go calm down.

http://www.bayinsider.com/partners/ktvu/news/2002/03/28_bullets.html You heard correct. If this passes a box of 500 .22 bullets will have a tax of $25. So instead of paying around $7 to $11. You will now be paying upwards of $40 after ammo tax, bullets, and sales tax.

I can see it now when you go into the state now you will be asked do you have any fruit or vegtibles or AMMO! sounds like strip search time to me. you don't want to get caught with any .22 ammo tape to your ankle. sounds like hard time to me.

Do you know what is really fu*king amazing??? It's the fact that a lot of people that will post here to get recognition, be cool, or get noticed will not write were it counts! I've noticed a lot of Apathy from Texas - when you asked us to remember the Alamo we answered the call!! Our blood bleeds red too. What you dont seem to remember though is that all of the heroes at the alamo were dead heroes! What makes you think that ANY of us are any different?? If you are overcome by a wave of public sentiment or a numerically superior force of the ignorant, what does it matter? you will still have lost! Divide and conquer- that is exactly what is happening! They are counting on the fact that we are not true Patriots, as Gun owners, or as Americans that we will not band together as Brothers and Defend ourselves.. They are counting on the fact that they are right in branding us as just a few misguided individuals & gun toting wierdos.. If the founding fathers thought as some of you we would all be Crown Subjects of Great Britain. Or worse we would all be in the camps of nazi socialists or the communists!! Funny, I have flown over this great country of ours many times, I still cant see the lines that divide our states. what happens to one WILL happen to all.. Its called momenttum

well I don't like to say it but ca. sucks there I said it. I lived in northern ca. from 1960 till 1998 so thats 38 years of seeing what it used to be and what it is now. as far as the state their is not another one that I think has more senic vista's going from the ocean to the mountains, but you are right the big cities will control everything and thats the way it is period. I was around and owned a gun shop for a few years back in the 80's laws were not to bad but it has really gone done hill since. if you have the dream that they do not want to take all your guns away you must be smoking crack. and you guys that talk that they will not take my guns well you we bitch alot but you will give them up won't you. how many of you (with out saying) have gone over the state lines lately and bought a nice sp1 and a bunch of 30 rounders. you will roll over like a dog in heat before you give up that nice home, good job, two cars in the drive way or that ocean view because after all its only a gun and my family comes first. can't you hear yourself saying it now like this. well I know it took the cops a hour to respond to the house four doors down when those 8 gang bangers kicked the door in and beat, raped and robbed the neighbors but what are the odds of it happening to us as a $700 rifle is not much compared to my $65,000 income, $300,000 home, the motor home out back and the nice lexus and volvo we drive. face it I went to those meetings and fought like some of you did, I was in stockton when the press was screaming about purdy shooting up that school yard and guess what we lost. does that mean I have to hide in a hole or do something about it. #1 your choices are either bitch alot and then roll over #2 grow a pair of balls and go out and do something to show you are not going to take it anymore but you will be labeled a nut and that would help further their plans, they want you to do some thing like that. #3 just roll over and save you some grief. #4 give up that comfy feeling you have there because its plan you don't like it and move your family someplace else. I left and guess what they have jobs here too! I have a bigger home and newer than in ca., I make the same money as I did there, and I get to own a 20 round ar15 mag also. but this state will be like ca. is now in 20 years because of the towns like denver and others that are growing leaps and bounds. we are fighting it here and kinda holding our own but we have a chance to make a stand and I just might decide to move to wyoming or someplace else next, but I will see. you can't stop them now just like the red man of the 1800's couldn't stop them its going to happen.

Well, everybody's gotta have a hobby. [:P] Besides, fact is that he lives here! Go figure... People her love to rag on CA, but there's gun laws and wacky politicos everywhere. We stil don't have a FOID like IL, restrictions like HI or NJ, and so on. What's sad is that there's so much blaming and finger pointing that we as gun owners are truly divided and conquered. It's already happened, though many in "free" states like to delude themselves into thinking they're safe. It's just a matter of time... Surf's up! Time to hit the beach...

Ahhh, but I DO write places other than here - I have been published in the SJMN a few times, and I would imagine by now that (at least) Feinstein and Boxer are beginning to tremble when they see my return addy at the top of a letter... While ranting here may be preaching to the choir, it is still a place where we can actually RANT without harming our "cause" as much as we would if we were to rant in public fora. Here, I can rant to people who can understand my frustration. When I rant in public, I M-U-S-T remain civil and calm - something not strictly necessary here. FFZ

You know what the Liberals really want? 1. For everyone to keep their mouths shut and do what the liberals tells us to do. After all, they know best. 2. Give up our guns. After all, we may hurt some poor alternative lifestyle person and that would be tragic. 3. Give the government all our money so they can redistribute it to alleviate all social injustices. 3. Never even think a politically incorrect thought. 4. Blame America and our racist history for all the evils in the world. 5. Condemned our forefathers as evil slave owning white men. Kalifornia is well on its way.
