It's been a couple years since I had a decent Linux build. I used to run Red Hat but I've got a copy of Suse 10. It has both desktops available. Any pros or cons to either? I'm used to generic X Windows in the past.

Poll to follow.

I prefer KDE for general desktop use... Enlightenment for the quick and easy.

QT apps run fine in Gnome, and GTK apps run fine in Kde. Most good distros have matching themes for both, so apps will look the same. Use both.

I use Enlightenment.

Bill Gates will hire Chuck Norris to ask Jack Bauer to eat your children for not using Windows.

True, but it can still be compared because it's a gui on top of a Unix-based OS.

Slackware. The best 1995 has to offer.

Gnome is the best. No contest.
