I'm staying in a hotel last night on the north side of Birmingham, AL while my truck is in the shop.

I am awoken at 0-Dark:30 by the sound of breaking glass.  Ok, what's going on I wonder?  I figure I'll just go back to bed.

A short time later, there is more glass breakage.  This time, I double check the night stand for my P220 and G2...

Almost as soon as I check my Sig... I hear a very loud crashing sound of glass breaking.  Ok... I'm up and I'm in condition red.

I got to my door to look out the peep hole, and cannot see much.  So I move over to the big window and cautiously pull aside the drape.  I can't see anything...  I wait for awhile and see no activity.

Finally, I decide it's time to get back to bed.  Much ado about nothing.  An innocent accident?  Something worse?  Who knows...

This morning I go to check out.  The guy ahead of me in line asks if I heard the ruckass last night, I told him yes I had.  He goes on to explain how it was one of his workers.  He has a moving truck, and this guy went out last night and got drunk.  Couldn't hold his liquor it seems.  He forgot his room key and decided to pound the hell out of the door.  When his room-mate wouldn't let him in because he was acting violently, he busted the big window of the room.

Here's where it gets interesting... when he got in the room, he attacked his room-mate / co-worker with a knife!

The room-mate was aparently able to subdue him, and the police came and hauled his ass off.  To my knowledge, no dogs were harmed during this arrest.

What would have happend if he had come over 5 rooms by mistake???  

He'd have learned the definition of "sucking chest wound" in every sense.

There'd be a 30+ page thread on how you were a hothead by nature and sought out seedy hotels to bunk down at hoping beyond hope that someone would break into your room and give you an excuse to Draw Down® on some poor unsuspecting drunk with the goal of upping your personal "bad-ass" self-esteem (or at the least your post count) on the arfcom, when CLEARLY all that was called for was the dialing of 911/your mini-keychain can of Fox OC spray/a rape whistle/CO2 fire extinguisher/or a few lessons in hapkido, aikido, ninjitsu, or krav maga.

That's where the heavy haul wrecker dropped me off after he towed my rig to the Freightliner dealer.
