Work is pretty demanding and I have enough stress to deal with.
A couple months back due to the financial situation we had to lay some people off. One of the guys I had to let go (personally) was our maintenance guy. Why we hired him in the first place is beyond me, I wasn't in the roll when he was hired. He was previously in the big house for a murder charge on a drug deal gone bad for 25 years..... Total AB too.. He had the layoff coming. He thought he had the right people who's ass he would kiss convinced he was doing a great job but not me. I had multiple complaints of his threatening/ aggressive behavior, everything he touch we had to have someone else repair, couldn't be trusted to make runs on his own, suspected of being back on meth and suspected of theft but never caught in the act. Funny thing though he never had a problem with me until I was in charge of him. I tried to let him go politely as possibly but shit escalated quickly. Which resulted in me being threatened and in turn having the sheriff come out and pay a visit but he left just as they arrived. Now today I get a call from one of our purchasers saying that he called her asking where I lived because of how I screwed him over. He had made threats as well to do so at the time of the lay off. SO LUCKY ME!!! Now I got a fucking meth head who is running drugs (disclosed to purchaser on phone) looking for where I live I do carry but at work I leave it in the desk. I have called the sheriffs office to let them know, they will have a deputy contact me. Looks like I'll be keeping the AR in the truck now. Going to get a misses a G17 or 19 after work today, I want her to have something with a higher capacity that isn't a 45. Also going to let the neighbors, who are good people and always home, to keep a look out. What a fucking Monday |

That sucks. Watch your corn hole bud.. Do you have an alarm and camera system yet?
ETA: have you told everyone else that he might try to contact to not give out your personal info? |

If a known theif is stalking and fucking with you, don't leave your AR in the truck. Seriously, unlee you have some sort of super bad ass security in your parking lot, he's gonna fuck with your truck, and that will likely include breaking in. And then you will have a well armed stalker.

Fortunately, they usually gets busted in the act because they are caught on security cameras. |

Stay safe! I would normally agree with this but two months later and this guy is just now pressing the issue... That says he's got an axe to grind. I'd be very careful. Any chance he's still on parole? Contact his PO and let him know what's up. |

Keep your weapons secured in case this man decides to vandalize your truck and wonders what's in the box after he breaks the window. |

Maybe you'll get lucky and the meth will do him in. I don't like to count on luck though, so go heeled everywhere you go.

You need counter surveillance. You obviously are in the 1% since you are a manager. Give me 100k a month and I'll be there.

I would immediately put cameras up at your house.
Personally I have a game camera that captures license plates of all vehicles driving by my house. If someone breaks in or vandalizes my property I want to be able to provide good evidence to the authorities. |

Keep your pistol on you. Leave the rifle at home unless you can have it in the office. (property crime is more likely here)
Post pictures of him at every person's desk that has a view of the front door. Inform everyone to be on the look-out for him and to call the police immediately if they see him on the premises. Are there any other gun owners in the building? Any friends? |

View Quote Everyone at the place knows who he is and what happened a while back. I'm not the only one at work who is gun friendly, almost everyone is. After the initial lay off day most everyone knew of the threats. It'd be safe to say out of a place with 113 employees there were probably about 10 with guns either in a desk or tool box. One of the engineers told me not to worry he had his shotgun in the truck. I just laughed and told him thanks. will leave the rifle at home in the safe. |

Yep, if he's on probation, They can violate his ass for the threats alone probably. I'd be calling the dept. of corrections and find out. If he has a PO, you can contact them directly.

I think I used to work with that guy haha of course that could be a lot of guys around here. The guy we had started threatening another coworker over texts when the coworker got ot and he couldn't..just reading the texts was scary. Telling him he was gonna stab him with a screwdriver and he was a kiss ass all because he couldn't come in on his day off

Post pictures of him at every person's desk that has a view of the front door. View Quote Good one. I had a similar situation years back. Nothing came of it but an explicit threat was made. I looked for him to show, but he never did. A druggie with aggression issues like the OP's guy. Sad thing is, I found out later that a coworker had sold the guy a Colt Commander before all this came up. That kind of made the threat credible. I considered a first strike option on his ass. The picture suggestion is a damn good idea. |

To the OP.
You've done everything right. And you are taking additional precautions. Such (multiple) threats should put him in the pen for a long time. But then we wonder why there is so much violence. The company knew about his threats. They 'should' help you with (pay for) security for a short time. There is a clear and immediate threat. A lot of companies are going to a policy of having a 'secure' situation when they let people go now. For everybody, even the least likely to be a problem. Someone else collects their personal belongings while a couple of Outside/unknown people sit with (and counsel) the person being let go. The people that stay with the 'let go' party can get a feel for potential problems |

Hey Smitro' Glad you're the World's only psych expert who knows what's going to happen. A fucking guy just went into a church and shot 9 people. Maybe you've heard about it, huh? He telegraphed it before hand. Read you local paper. Every paper in the Nation. Violence is everywhere - EVERYDAY EVERYEWHERE. We've ALL seen enough times where people are let go and come back and kill people. Now IF you are saying that 'most times' these people are bluffing, then yeah that's another thing. Most are. But that's not what you said. You KNOW because you're an expert or something. The rest of us see and read about real life. Its a GUN BOARD after all. Do you have any guns? Why? You'll never need one statistically....Why don't you get rid of them? Why lock your door at night? Me thinks you need to be tasked with firing some of these nuts and then experiencing yourself the real concern for yourself and family. |

Get a grip!!!! SMITRO is too consumed with 'knowing' everything already to have read the details of the situation. He doesn't read the news everyday like most truly smart people to help understand the world and human nature. He knows to just tell the STUPID OP to stfu and get back to work. Someday he or someone he knows will be faced with such a situation and the real uncertainty that exists. Many of these people do bluff. A few don't. Why have car insurance or life insurance for your family if USUALLY nothing happens. Because the consequences IF something happens are huge. Get a grip, or better a brain. |

Fuck dude. Been there, sister did all sorts of stupid shit and I got on the bad side of one of the meth heads she hung out with.
He almost earned a few 7.62mm sized holes in his chest once, if there hadn't been so many people around he would be in the ground, always be aware of what is beyond the target and all that. Meth heads are bad news. It really fucks people up, and I have seen how the mindset associated with it hangs around after a user gets clean and its a shitty mindset. |
