Reynolds to Hogg 'Dukes of Hazzard' spotlight

LOS ANGELES - - Burt Reynolds will be living high on the hog - Boss Hogg, that is.
The grizzled 68-year-old actor is in talks to star opposite Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott and Jessica Simpson in the big-screen adaptation of the hit '80s series "The Dukes of Hazzard," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project follows the adventures of cousins Bo and Luke Duke (Scott and Knoxville), whose chief joys in life are tooling around in their Dodge Charger, the General Lee, and messing with the Hazzard county lawmen Boss Hogg (Reynolds) and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. The boys are aided by Daisy (Simpson) and Uncle Jesse, who will be played by country music legend Willie Nelson.

Jay Chandrasekhar ("Broken Lizard's Super Troopers" and "Club Dread") will direct.

Reynolds recently appeared in the comedy "Without a Paddle." His upcoming films include the Ray Romano and Kevin James comedy "Grilled" and the remake of the 1974 film "The Longest Yard" with Adam Sandler.

DoubleFeed should be thrilled at this news...
