So I read the posts around here and some bring back memories of similar accounts.
The latest one was about Walmart.
I am wondering if anything like this has happened to any of you. Strangers making comments to you on voting.
Prior to the Presidential election, my family and I PCS from Fairbanks, Alaska to Savannah, Georgia.
We still have our Alaska plates on our trucks.
We go into the local Walmart to pick up some essentials because our "home goods" have not yet arrived.
One item is a dresser since we know the old one will not last long.
Two Walmart employees help my Wife and I bring it out to the truck.
They see the plate on the truck and one says, "Hmpf, I bet you guys voted for that Palin chick" He pronounced Paw-lan.
I picked up on the sarcasm immediately and replied, "Yes, I've met her twice, I had a conversation with her outside the polls at -20 the first time, she and the fella that she was running against were saying hello to people on the exit side of the polls. She saw all of us in Uniform and made it a point to say thank you."
The second guy chimes in, well, she's crazy and everyone else too... then he stops.
My wife, who is very shy, turns to him and says something along the lines of.
"Well, you're an idiot, nice life, Shut The Fk Up and load the box."
As she walks to the front of the truck she rambles on about low lives with no education shouldn't fking open their mouths in public, why are they fking breeding so damn much and this place is fking hot.
God, I miss her. 126 more days till I come home!
