"Some ammunition that was previously exempted as “primarily intended to be used for sporting purposes,” specifically 5.56mm constituent projectiles of SS109 and M855 cartridges, will again be regulated as “armor piercing ammunition.” Except as provided by law, no person may manufacture or import such ammunition, and manufacturers or importers may not sell or deliver such ammunition. ATF will maintain the exemption for 30-06 M2AP cartridges

Read the entire document and it is pretty clear that they intend to push more of this type of initiative. |

I wonder, has a single police officer ever been shot with an AR pistol? I just read the entire thing, and their rationale is that when they granted the exemption in 1986, there were no AR pistols...now that there are then they need to ban import/manufacture.
Stupid standard. The mere presence of a handgun that can chamber a rifle cartridge shouldn't make it armor piercing pistol ammo. Weak-bitch Congress needs to repeal that stupid statute, but we know they won't. Fuck the ATF. |
