Last time I got an e-mail from his site, I replied to it and asked to be taken off his e-mail contact list. Looks like that didn't happen. Well, today's e-mail is for brand-new USGI mags and he's practically giving them away ($109 delivered for 10 brand-new Center Industries green follower mags).

Anyone else get the notice? He must be testing to see just how serious we are about not dealing with him. I have to admit, I was sitting here thinking for a few minutes about how neat it'd be to have ten more mags in the stable for chump money, but my resolve stiffened and I deleted the e-mail.

One way I look at it is this: This could be the order that he uses to screw me over, regardless of how sweet the deal sounds. Looking at it that way made it much easier to stick to my guns about not dealing with crooks.

Why would you think he'd screw you?  Because of that Moron with the SKS?  Or has there been another incident(s)?

It's a tempting deal!  If I hadn't been spending like a drunk sailor already I'd snag some.  Reputable mags are getting slightly less abundant lately.

BTW< I read a couple threads about him.  FWIW, I've been going there for years, his attitude in real life has consistently gotten worse over the years, just like his online persona.

whether or not you want an SKS or not does not give you, eric, or any other seller to blatently and knowingly mis-represent merchandise, and then tell the customer to more or less fuck off when the customer demands some recourse.

imagine if you were going to buy a sealed box of ammo.  the outside said XM193 on it, but when you opened it up it was filled with wolf.  would you not hold the seller responsible for mis-representing the goods you bought in order to get more money from you for said goods?

The guy with the SKS aside (not fair to call him a moron for being screwed over), Ammoman's an asshole.  Period.   I don't like him because he treats his customers like shit.  One phone call with that guy, and I wouldn't give him a penny to save his life.  IMHO coming off with attitude like he does is a poor way to run a busines....but, his prerogative.

Regardless, he's not offering anything that other businesses(who treat their customers with repect) aren't.  A couple retailers have been offering them for comparable prices.

If you want to get Center mags for $10.00, check the EE, there have been a bunch for $10.00 shipped (or less) on  there in the past month.

Hell, if you can't find any there, I'll sell you 10 NIW Center mags for $109.00 shipped.

I've seen them as low as $8.79-$9.50ea. $8.39ea in packs of 10.

They are actually cheaper than USED AK mags right now.

...Still trying to figure that one out.

The last two batches of mags I bought were from 44mag.com and CProducts.com.

It's still just a $150 commie hunk o' shit, IMO.  Of all the thousands of good transactions that Eric's had, I can't justify holding one bad one against him.  Maybe if we started to see a pattern of evil.

I just don't buy that he would try to defraud some geek out of an extra few bucks on a hunk o shit gun.

I seem to remember (foggy recollection), that back before the AWB expired, there was a person here selling a bunch of NIW USGI mags at a very respectable price.

It was pretty much an ARFCOM offering... in other words the seller wasn't spamming every gun related forum, nor did he have a website or take out an ad in SGN.

Members would buy what they could afford; be it 3-4 mags or 2 dozen.

Ammoman came along and bought up the sellers entire stock (might have been a 100/500 mags, might have been more, might have been less).

He then turned around and tried to sell the mags here at a much higher price; maybe $3.00- $5.00 more. I don't recall the exact amount.

There were some at the time that called him a "greedy asshole", "snake", whatever.

Others defended him by saying "that's the way the system works", "that's the American way", "free market place" whatever.

Point is, while that's what capitalism and business is about, it's unethical and a low-blow to take advantage of a situation like that (knowing the circumstances), then turn around and pretty much say" if you want them, you have to deal with me now".

I hope those are the same mags and he takes a heavy loss on his "investment".

I know some here do not like Eric(Ammoman). I have read the posts, both good & bad. I knew his ammo prices where high, but, he had it in stock when I wanted it. I have purchased around 5K of the boxed Xm193 LC. From my experience, I can only say, fast shipping, ammo was good and zero issues.

Would I buy more...well... If he has it, and nobody else does, of course I will.

Here you go...

It's a long read so let me try to some up.

Ammoman posts Vietnam Bringback SKS for $375 on website
Person buys said SKS and discovers is a severely beaten up import CLEARLY MARKED
Person calls Ammoman asking for refund
Person is offered $100 for rifle that he had just purchased for $375
Person gets pissed and refuses offer
Posts a thread here
ARFCOM site staff gets involved to try and help out
Ammoman tells site staff and Person to "talk to his lawyer"
Site Staff cuts ties and removes Ammoman's sponsership here on Arfcom

Feel free to add anything I left out
