Hey guys. I just switched phones and got an iphone. It's pretty cool, but I wanted to know what you guys like as far as apps for it go.
Thanks. |
Surefire Shot Timer. It used to be free, not sure if it still is.
Almost forgot, Angry birds will get your ass fired, and probably lead to a divorce.
So far I have: Ebay, N64 collection tracker, Facebook, Zombie gunship (too fucking cool. You fly an ac-130 and shwack zombies complete with FLIR!!!), Fox News, bar-code scanner, flashlight, sex offender map, level app, and unit converter.
Oh yeah, and angry birds! |
Gps Drive, 5.0 Radio, Pandora and Clinometer.
Then its just about the diddle of your choice of course. |
I think Shazam is pretty cool ...well if you want to impress your friends with your band knowledge at the bar that is.
I think "SkyView" is a pretty cool app....It maps constellations, planets and satellites....
did i get in before the "android is better" trolls/crowd?
will you be using it for business or mostly just personal? |
Quoted:
Droid emulator My submission as well. ShopSavvy for Droid, I think it is called "Redline" for iPhone, gives you prices for stuff by scanning bar codes with camera Audible for listening to audio books while carrying only one device. Use a wired headset so you don't have to worry about charging bluetooth and phone batteries AccuWeather or WeatherBug GasBuddy There are so many apps out there that are put out for both platforms it is ridiculous, if it exists for iPhone, there's a version for Droid, and sometimes vice-versa (stupid app store censorship for everything being family friendly). |
Personal.

Quoted: Quoted: New iPhone model coming out in about a month, and you went and bought one now? I never buy current gen. Glorious waste of money. So you bought a 3GS? That will be 2 generations old in a month. You could have gotten the current gen in a month for the same price as the 3GS. |
Jailbreak it.
Then you can do Wi Fi with 3G and all sorts of other cool stuff. They have a print app in Cydia that allows you to print docs from the phone to your network printer. Awesome |
"Capcom Arcade," if you like old-school arcade games (Street Fighter II, 1943, Final Fight, etc.) . Lets you play 3 times a day for free, and you can purchase individual games in the "arcade" for $3.

Have you ever been somewhere unfamiliar and said, gee, I wish I knew where the closest _______ is?
The app AroundMe will show you what's near by. I've used it in a few places and it seems pretty accurate so far. I'm also a big fan of Slacker Radio. Free isn't bad but subscription is kick ass. |

Quoted: Yeah, and I needed a phone NOW. This may surprise you, but I'm happy with what I have. My choices were replace phone now or go a month without a phone. I was just going to point out that you usually have a 2 or 4 week period where you can return the phone. My intention was to help you not be pissed off when the new model comes out and you're stuck with the older one. |
