So I was reading up on the SIG P227, thinking it might be nice to get. I read some threads here, and elsewhere that said there's really no advantage to it over a P220 with a ten round mag. I looked around the net for 10 rnd P220 mags and they seem to be pretty pricey, upwards of $70 for the ones in stock. I was in Cabelas today and low and behold, they had em for $39.99. I got two. Now I guess my P220 is a P227, sort of.  Now I have saved about a grand to buy ammo or build another long gun. How did I do? Has anyone seen any deals on the P220 10 rnd mags in their AO?

I just don't get the P227, I love Sigs but no way would I spend that much on a 10rd double stack .45

My LGS that I do a lot of business with has a P227 in stock for $849

I was about to buy it a few days before I left hunting, but I just can't justify it. I already have a decked out P220. SRT, E2 conversion, trijicons, well broken in amazing gun. Ton of mags for my P220 as well. (10)

Why drop another 1k basically on a 227?

So I didn't.

Bought an M&P 9 Pro 5in instead.

... And a Versa Max tactical for 3 gun.

I will most likely get one someday. If I already had a p220 then probably wouldn't.

Wow, I had not really followed the p227. So, they want $300 more for a gun that holds 3 rounds less than a G21, and has a DA/SA trigger?
In that case, I'll have a Coke.

The extended mags are 14 rounds so.......

Yea..

I like full size 45s. I'll probably buy a 227 some day. But I have other priorities. A glocks 21 is on my list to get. Someday.

For now I'm bought out of gun for the year I think. Unless I sell an AR... Which would be replaced by another AR.

I’m waiting on the tactical version. 14 round mags and a threaded barrel.

Same here.  I was waiting to see a 227 in person and saw one at a local shop last week.  I was excited until I saw the size of the mag...for some reason I thought it was a 12 rounder.

When I saw it was a 10, it was a deal breaker.  I already have a 220ST, so I'm in the same boat as the OP, no way I was spending $1k for 2 more rounds.
