I am thinking of getting one myself!

I only have 2 Kimbers now and that is not enough!

No kidding. Talk about a downer. I open this thread expecting pics only to be disappointed. BTW you got yourself an outstanding sidearm.

I read the title and thought you purchased a captured taliban to do yard work at first.

I shot one a month or so ago, I didnt like the trigger (not the pull, I didnt like the physical shape/cut of the trigger), was cut a bit sharp on the edges for me.  A bit of crocus cloth could fix it up in no time, other than the trigger it was great.

Got a Warrior a month or so ago and love it.  I have had a couple Fail to feeds on reloads during the first 200 rounds, but I think it has worked out that kink.

I wish my Kimber had a lanyard loop...  Then again, the front strap checkering is pretty nice on mine

But you have a goofy external extractor

Buy a new main spring housing from Brownells with the lanyard loop.

I heard someplace that now the military has asked for external extractors on all their new Kimbers, and only the civilian models will still have the old style.

Seriously, I saw some grips that would look good on the Desert Warrior at the S&W site... they were TAN-colored Crimson Trace grips. I don't know if they are available seperately yet, but they were shown on one of the S&W 1911s and I thought they looked pretty good.

That is because it is a Custom TLE/RL II and not a Warrior.

Retention.

I can come in handy if you open carry in rugged conditions (liking hiking).

I've actually used mine quite a bit.

Derrrrrrr, no kidding.  Hence my comment concerning the extractor.
