The Dallas County district attorney’s office said indictments by the grand jury hearing Johnny Manziel’s case would be announced Monday, signaling that the former Aggie and Cleveland Browns quarterback probably will face a criminal charge.
Dallas County prosecutors had said that a decision not to indict Manziel — called a “no bill” — would be announced Thursday but a formal indictment would come Monday.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is accused of kidnapping, hitting and threatening to kill an ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, earlier this year.
Dallas police referred a Class A misdemeanor domestic violence assault case to a grand jury instead of making an arrest. Typically, Dallas County’s grand juries hear only felony cases.
