He's a bit of an asshole at times. But he's been a fairly good governor. I like him on a personal level even though I'm not 100% sold on his current political shenanigans. If I were betting I'd say he's still holding out to be Vice President. He'd be a good VP because he knows Congress inside and out and of course he knows the Governors. And he's a bit of a jerk who isn't afraid to say what he thinks.

You could do much much worse than having John Kasich a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

No he's not. They had him stay in just to pull OH from Trump. It would have been too obvious if he pulled out directly after. The GOP is hoping for a contested convention so they can pick more then likely Ted Cruz, and maybe just maybe they offered Kasich a VP spot or some other job.

I once watched him call a group of County elected officials on the carpet during a speech where he was supposed to say something good about them. Instead, he lectured them for a half hour or so about how they were a big part of the problem and if they didn't get their minds right they'd be written off as losers, just like their predecessors. There was quite a bit of squirming in seats at that one. I had to leave the room so I could laugh. It was glorious in a painfully awkward way.
