Just saw a promo for tonights 60 minutes (Pats/Bears game) and there's our next speaker of the house, balling like a little girl.

It's going to be a long 2 years.

based on the lame duck session so far, I have zero faith in the republican leadership, not that anything different should have been expected I guess.

Better choice, not good choice.
We will never repeal shit like Obamacare. It's here to stay.  Obama getting over elected over McCain was not a good thing.

Lesser of several evils.
Idealists got us where we are now.

I'll take weak conservatism over strong liberalism any day of the week if those are the only choices.

Would I prefer Mike Pence over Boehner? Sure. Did it happen? No.

So what is the point of mental masturbation. Be glad Pelosi is out as majority leader.

Well, say what you will, but I would prefer reps who are passionate even to the point of being emotional about what they're doing and what they believe in rather than people who don't care and are just there for the job and the power.

You're making quite a leap there, my friend.  First, Republicans won the election, so The wicked witch of the west isn't a choice.
I'm not even sure I'm opposed to Boehner, but a man who can't control his emotions does concern me.

I think it's just the crowd who wants "decorum."

Me, I'd be much happier with something more akin to the Continental Congress or the early form of our current constitutional Congress or British Parliament. If someone's passionate about something they're not afraid to show it to the country as a whole, and if an officer or minister of the government comes in and lies his ass off, he gets ridiculed as such without mercy right then and there.

I for one find his sincerity refreshing out of a politician.

Don't know what he's crying about in the 60 min interview but at least on election night he was crying out of graditude for living in the U.S. with all of the great opportunities it provides for everyone.

Contrast that with the attitude the Obama's, along with most other leftists harbor towards this nation and I'll take the cry baby every time.

ETA:  Let's face it, the typical ARFCOM Response on election night "Suck it down, commie fags" doesn't play well in Pieorria.  Boehner's response was much more classy and will in all likelyhood advance our agenda further.

Again, I never implied he was a bad man - just a pussy.  It seems from this clip he's not in control of his emotions.

I'll judge him base on how he leads the house - but, in my opinion, this doesn't bode well.

Dick Cheney is my favorite politician.

Only the greasiest kind of slimeballs act like this Boehner guy does. He's probably an effective leader if he managed to weasel his way all the way to speaker of the house, but I detest him personally.

Recently only the shit eaters have gotten any airtime thanks to the tea party / glen beck tantrum, so it's hard to put a finger on who should be the speaker.

I caught the segment on him.  He came across as a man who lived the American dream and is deeply concerned that  the coming generations may not have the same opportunity.   I will ultimately judge him on his performance as the speaker, but for now, he seems like a good man.  His crying doesn't bother me one bit.

I agree, he worked in his family's business from when he was 10 and worked his way through school as a janitor at times. He got emotional when his long time wife said she was proud of him. I like the emotion, shows some feeling

On a serious note, Boehner is a good man.  He will be LIGHT YEARS better than what we have had the last four years.
