This poses an interesting question: Now that Hamas IS the government of the Palestinians, the next Hamas suicide bomber would actually be an act of war, wouldn't it?
That certainly ought to make things more interesting. As to the point of the thread, Carter is making a point. The Palestinian Authority, meaning the government that has authority over the Palestinians, is almost COMPLETELY funded by the US and the EU. They must have US and EU money to deliver even BASIC services to the people. If we send no money, there IS no PA. The question is now this: We know what Hamas has stood for in its history. If they decide tomorrow to stop overtly calling for the destruction of Israel, do we still send the money? We cannot realistically expect that they have suddenly reformed overnight and no longer thirst for Israeli blood. |

BUT the terror sympathizers in EU and America <read most leftist> would say that we need to work with them now that they are a "democratically elected" party I say if the majority of Palistinians want terror then we should stand with Israel after the first act of war and give them the war the voted for.
