Don't have a link handy. Apparently, he's had enough of the fame. Built himself a place somewhere in Texas and is leaving California. Parts have officially been outsourced so you can still get his designs. Best of luck to him.

He deserves every penny of money given to him and every bit of fame.
Anybody who can take raw material, and turn into a running piece of equipment, is a cool M'fkr in my book. Unlike those with lots of money and no brains, paying someone to "bolt on" shit. |

Unlike those with lots of money and no brains, paying someone to "bolt on" shit. Seriously! I recall watching the first shows where he was pounding out fenders and gas tanks, shaping them on wheels and then welding and grinding them into finished pieces ready for the paint shop. Pure talent and mechanical skill. Too bad he was seduced by Hollywood. Too bad he didn't get the Tybee Island digs! He'd have been a natural in Savannah. Good luck in Texas, lookin' forward to some new stuff. Be nice to see him stop off in Alabama to knock the latte foam off the Confederate bikes and leave them with some redneck industrial design imagination. |

All I know about the guy is what I have seen on his TV programs. He seems to be a decent artist, and he seems to really enjoy building bikes. I can imagine that for an artist the fame and fortune of becoming a celebrity would be fun for a while, but would eventually become an albatross around your neck.
Once an artist becomes a pop culture sensation nobody really cares about the artistic side of things anymore, they are looking to see the same thing over and over. The kick in the ass for the true artists is that if they give the people what they want, the same thing over and over, before long the same people who demanded the same work repeatedly decide that the artist is a sell out and has went commercial, then they move on to the next thing. I am sure he will still continue to build motorcycles the way he wants to. He took his fifteen minutes, he embraced it and squeezed everything he possibly could out of it, and is riding off into the sunset. Too bad more celebrities don't do the same. His politics? Who cares, he builds custom motorcycles for big bucks, he isn't a politician, he hasn't gone around espousing his social and political views from the rooftops, whatever his political views are they are his and his alone. |

For sure. At least for that, I can respect him. Too bad indeed that so many hypocrite celebs seem bent on telling all of us how WE should live our lives –– when they are complete screwups. At least he isn't doing that. |

I like the dude, and could really give a shit less about his political leanings.
Never seen him on stage or on TV ranting about cap and trade or ending the war. Just building bad ass bikes. True craftsman. Something lost in these days of bolt ons and outsourcing. |

Apparently he is in the HotRod business in Texas now. Thought I had heard he bought the house in Texas to be closer to Sandra and the kids hoping to still say close, but don't think that helped any.
