ETA: What do they think the purpose of that crap is? The cars look horrible. At first I thought it was a joke, but then I saw that a bunch of those cars were done up in basically the same fashion.

Can't really figure out those cars. Some of the japanese engines are capable of high performance, but somehow I doubt that the performance is up to par when you hang 500+ lbs of fiberglass off the car.

Look at Lotus with their Exige. Very, very light car. 1.8 liter Toyota 190 hp engine with all the excess stuff stripped off the car...makes a fast street/track car. (There's a Euro Version at 240 hp that gives 0-60 in 4.1 sec).

Pure Racing:
The Ariel Atom:
2 liter Honda Engine (220 HP). "to give an average 0-60mph of 2.91 sec."

AFARR,

Car != Gocart

Yeah, the Atom comes pretty close to a gokart. A VERY, VERY fast ADULT version of a gokart (top speed over 130mph). Definitely a track car only (doesn't meet any street regs). The Exige is street legal.

I dig that side draft carb on the outside of that red car!
