Have a chance on the 2011-2012 and 2010-2011 edition and also the 2008-2009.

I chanced on the 1997-1998 edition but I am wondering are there people that consider it WORTH IT???

Years ago I used to read those books at the library.
They are a great reference and very interesting to read.
At that price there are other things to spend money on.

Considering the amount of information available for free on the Internet. No.

Especially not for $1K.

Check out abebooks.com and other used book sites.  You can someitmes find older ones at a great price.  I have a few of them that I picked up cheap.  I don't think there are a great deal of changes from one year to the next.  30 or 40 bucks? no problem.  MSRP? forget it.

Back in the day owning a copy of Janes fighting aircraft was my dream in life as a young kid.



Today I have a copy and many of the others and although nice, there is nothing you cant find with decent access to online sources.



I'll tell you what is definitely worth it, (again depending on price) they put out a few periodicals such as Janes defense weekly which are absolutely incredible if your interested in that type of reading.
