Super sweet, and I get way more almond than honey.  Not bad. But definitely just a once in a while thing for me.

Fuck the honey.

Drink like a man.

Well, I've been having Bulleit Manhattans each night for the past week, but I had a headache tonight so I thought I'd lighten it up.

Traditionally, Manhattans were made with rye whiskey, not bourbon.

Try it some time. It gives a more crisp bite.

PS: Don't forget the bitters.

I'm almost halfway through a case of that JD Honey since I found out about it when touring the still last month...   It does not leave a hangover.
You can't buy it there at the still though.

I love American Honey, just finished some, but the JD is quite good as well. Similar in concept.

I took a fifth of it on a camping trip.  We passed it around the fire one night and finished it!  I think I have about 4 converts that were going to start drinking it....

If it's anything like Wild Turkey's American Honey you can have my share.  That kind of stuff is even too sweet for the palatte of a 6 year old.

I like a sweet bourbon but that stuff is ridiculous.

I ddn't care for it. Are you sipping it or mixing it with something?

I never thought it would beat American Honey, but it does.  It is actually JD with honey, not an entirely different recipe.

I thought the JD Honey was good but I prefer the Seagram's Special Dark Honey

Everyone in the world seems to love it but me. Anytime a company makes a honey flavored alcohol, it always tastes like cheap ass Walgreens honey cough syrup.

Best honey beverage was my own honey beer where I used REAL FL orange blossom honey!

WT is really good in sweet ice tea.

Yes.

I call it instant ass hole juice as too much whiskey turns me into an ass hole and American Honey goes down so smooth and quick it's hard to meter.

As bourbons go, Bulleit has about the highest rye content.

So he's getting close.

As to that honey shit, I guess I could see having a little after dinner.  Or maybe sitting by the pool and having some iced tea made with it.

Sitting down and drinking that shit until you are drunk seems...  Like maybe you should stick with girl drinks.

Sounds like a date drink or for an "occasion".  I think I'll give it a shot, I'm a fan of JD in general.

We got sick of it.   I agree with comments about flavoring just tasting like cheap cough syrup.

Red Stag was really good, at first, & warm.  Then we'd order a shot and the place would have it chilled.  Ruined it for me.

I can appreciate better quality, but usually buy handle jugs of Jim Beam.    I like it all, in shot form or w/ cola & ice, actually.

The original Manhattan recipe just called for sinmply, "American Whiskey".    Bourbon and Canadian whiskey are equally accepted ingredients though.  I like Bourbon best for it's richness.  Rye is good though too but seems "thinner".  You've GOT to have bitters.  I use a lot of Angostura, but Peychoud is good for a change too.

I like the American Honey or the Evan Williams honey when I'm in the mood for something sweet.  But last weekend I got a pint of the Jack Honey and thought it was horrid.  Couldn't stand the smell or the taste.

Tried it again the next day to see if my tastebuds were just off, and still couldn't stand it.  Dumped it down the drain.

A shame - I love bourbon and also the unique Jack Daniels taste, so I had hopes for this one.

Amen.

If a person doesn't like whiskey, and prefers the sweet taste of wine coolers and such, thats fine. But when they want to 'pretend' to be drinking whiskey, well...

JD TH is very smooth - there's no burn at all when you drink it.

But, there's a weird taste and smell to it, very artificial.  To my nose, it's almost a banana smell.

It's not bad straight or with sweet tea, but I'd rather have spiced rum and coke.

I'll have to pick up some of the Evan Williams and Wild Turkey honey whiskeys.

I like "real whiskey" (not bourbon mind you it tastes like wood, but Scotch and Irish are gtg with me) and I also enjoy some American Honey from time to time as well. Variety.....spice of life, etc.
