I have no idea who/what/et c. It's from the Armalite site.

Our commercial versions of the M4 Carbine, M16A2, and M16A4 are now in production using components as close to the original as possible. No non-standard pins, useless blocks or cosmetic blemishes [] are added to our rifles. Our rifles look more like standard models and that means repairs and parts are easier to get.

Any idea who adds "cosmetic blemishes"  to its weapons?

Colt would be the "Non-Standard Pins".

Who would have the "useless blocks"?

Could you explain? I'm not familiar with this, I was thinking about some of the manufacturers making the permanently-fixed magazines as "blocks", but Im not sure.

I'm thinking the cosmetic blemishes might be the purple Bushmaster uppers?

Sear blocks in some of the older rifles.

No non-standard pins, useless blocks or cosmetic blemishes

Non-standard pins = Colt

useless blocks = Colt

cosmetic blemishes = ? must be Bushmaster's purple receivers. They've been the only one with a widespread color problem.

Sear blocks in all of the new semi auto rifles.

As for the blemishes... my 6721 was heavily marked up even out of the sealed wrapper from the factory. I was less than satisfied at an exposed stretch of steel on my hbar when I bought it.
